Brake Pad Failure/Issue? or is this normal?

I was hoping to get some feedback on the attached photos. I recently decided to do a small upgrade to by rear brakes because they were continuously making noise even though the Ford Dealership (Tommy Vaughn and Russell and Smith) in Houston told me there was nothing wrong. As you will see in the photos i dont think the rear brake pads (not that it should matter front or back) should be wearing down like this.

Let me know your thoughts.
