Im in the process of doing some maintinance on a 03 navigator engine for a future project. I bought a new timing set up and had a question about the chain tensioners. Original ones were plastic with no plate behind them. New ones are iron with the plates. Do I use the plates? Thanks

Might have better luck in the 4v section. If you got updated guides you might need updated crank gear. Gotta be careful about the crank gear vs guides vs cam gear alignment.

Good question because my stock motor when I removed the tensioners there was no plate but when I bought new tensioners it came with a plate. This is on a bhead with steel tensioners
