I have a 15 GT performance package. I'm looking to find out what would be a good price to have a new ring and pinion gear installed would be? I know the ford racing gears are around $185.

I just got a quote from Livernois Motorsports for $2215. That sounds absurd. The guy said they'd need to do a complete custom dyno tune on the thing. What? Pretty sure I can go in my diablosport tuner and just select a different gear ratio.

Wow! You can do the research, buy the parts, & tools for that amount.

Not on an IRS car. ^^^^ SRA maybe.

The S550s take special ring gears, special tools to set up, the whole shebang.

How much of the quote was labor vs tuning? Livernois shoots it pretty straight.

Not on these cars. The information is stored in the BCM, not the PCM.

That can be adjusted with the nGauge.

Oh well. DTS supplied and installed the gears and bearings for $700. I guess setting the tire size and gear ratio with the i2 did nothing, but it didn't matter anyway. The speedo is more accurate now
I didn't ask Livernois how much it was for labor vs the tune. I just said that was more than I wanted to pay and he said ok. This is the 2nd time I had a bad experience with them

A quote higher than what you wanted to pay is now considered a bad experience?

I lied. It was $758.30 plus tax, so $775 total, from DTS. That included all seals and side bearings. I highly recommend them

DiabloSport is still advertising on their website that their inTune tuner can change gear ratios and tire sizes. Now I'm curious. I'll test that out later.
