Exhaust leak?

Noticed that both of my mufflers have these black marks on the inlet side. Anybody else have this? Looks like a leak to me...

Some mufflers have a small hole near the bottom of the end flange to allow condensation to drip out after they cool. Haven't looked at mine specifically to check for this but I wouldn't be surprised there is a drain hole.

I cleaned them up and it does look like it’s by design:

The holes are there to help drain condensate.
