I'm having a fuel pressure problem, and hopefully resolve it without having to tear the whole fuel system apart. Here's what I have. 2003 Mach 1 with a Procharger H.O. kit. Fuel pump is a new Focus SVT pump, a new FPDM, Kenny Bell Boost-A-Pump, set at 10%, 42# injectors, and a Pro-M maf matched to the injectors. I only have 15-18 lbs of fuel pressure, and I'm pulling 20 inches of vacuum at idle, 800-850 rpm. Air/fuel is full rich, and plugs are black and sooty.

It's a Autometer electric fuel pressure gauge. Key on, engine off, I have 30 psi. As soon as the engine starts, drops to 18-15 psi.

I've replaced almost everything in the fuel system. Next is the fuel pressure sensor. After that, I'm at a loss. I've replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fpdm, blown out the lines with brake cleaner, changed the regulator, checked for vacuum leak, cleaned up the ground cable, etc

Going to do a little more research, check voltage, and possibly swap out the pump. Joy...

I would try putting a manual gauge on to check your digital. What happens above idle? Does it drop pressure more and lean itself out?

No, picks up slightly. Tops out around 30 psi. Getting ready to put in on the dyno next Thursday. I'm going to seek an expert opinion.

I did that with my 2004 Marauder and got low FP readings with AutoMeter gauge too!!:(

Turns out the Fuel rail reports pressure over atmospheric which means you need to add about 14 PSI to the AutoMeter Gauge reading......so I got a ScanGauge II and it reads properly from OBD II port....in my case 39#-40#!!;)

Maybe this is what's happening with yours??

I hope so. Getting it dyno tuned Thursday, so I hope it will be resolved . From my research, it's in the tuning. Wish me luck !! Hopefully it will put down some good numbers.
