Just curious. How do you like the grip on the Shield compared to your G19? Or did you modify the Shield grip.
Overall I prefer the G19. Both are completely stock. The shield is comfortable except the with the 7 round mag. Got to get more 8 round mags. I'm not a fan of finger groves on my grips. So both are good on that front. The simple fact that the G19 is double stack and thicker makes it more comfortable. One thing I don't like about the shield is the slide lock. It's too damn stiff to be a good slide release.

Went to the range this weekend and gave it a try. This pistol is very nice. I had a great time, just by myself, concentrating on the shooting and handling. It feels like therapy (LOL). I went with 200 rounds, man, those were gone quickly. I took your advice and went to Walmart, they currently have Winchester 200 rounds on sale for $37. So i stocked up a little for the next time. Overall, I am super happy with the gun and my decision to go shooting again. I signed up for training tomorrow, so I will go and shoot a couple rounds after that.

Thanks,

I hate the 7-round magazine, but I only have one. I have ten 8-round magazines. My pinky finger can't find a home with the 7-round magazine.

That's how i feel about my glock 27. I put a pinky extender on the mag(it isnt a +1 extender). Putting the pinky extender on it makes the gun nearly identical to my glock 23 in size. So it's just conceals exactly the same.

Hope you dont mind me chiming in.

If you haven't fired a G19 I would definitely recommend it. They are good firearms. I carried my Shield for all of about 2 weeks before going back to the 19. I will say the grip texture of the Shield is great.

I've got a trl3 i think it's called on my glock 23. Great little light. I cant see myself carrying a pistol with a light on it being useful for me.
After watching that video, I might just buy one myself. I like being able to better conceal my Shield. The Tuk looks pretty comfortable, too.
I ordered an alien gear cloak tuck 3.0 yesterday morning. Should be here Saturday. You can use it the same way. For $54 shipped and top rated, it's worth a try. If i dont like it, on the next brand i see. I would like to retire my gcode holster ive been using for years.

Thanks for the response. That's about my regular distance at the range. You're consistently on target!

Don't mind you jumping in at all. Nice Glock! I've only fired a Glock once, and it was a G19. Nice pistol but the Shield felt perfect, at the time, for daily carry. ABut after getting my just released HK VP9-SK, it's my new fav. Better weight in my hand. Better control. Better sights. Better grip. Which translates to better accuracy for me. It's just a great pistol all around. But everyone has their favorites.

Just got my custom made holster today from NightingaleLeather.com for my HK. Not cheap, but a superior OWB leather holster. Really well made, and I like that it is curved to conform to my hip, unlike like straight-back DeSantis holster.

That holster looks like a very high quality piece. I'm looking at their site now for my SA TRP 1911.

IMO if you dont like the lack of pinky grip on a glock 26/27 etc, you can just go ahead and get the compact versions for example the 19/23. The extended grip makes them nearly the same size.

If you have any questions, call the business owner, Kevin. Great guy, and very eager to answer questions.

If you don't like the grip with the 7 round mag I recommend picking up one of these.

Thanks. I've seen that before. A good option for my solo Shield 7-round magazine. I'm going to pick one up. Shield 8-round magazines are extended (no angle). My HK 10-round magazines (2) have a nice angled extension with finger groove.

I've wanted to install a safe of some type in my Edge because when I have to go into a bank or the post office, etc., I can't carry. And I'm responsible to ensure my weapon is safely stored and separate from any ammo. So, I found an awesome easy-to-install (10 minutes) console safe. Should have it next week. I feel really good about getting this! A side benefit is that I can store valuables in there when we're on vacation, etc.
