Why is the Mustangs 5.0 rated at 412-420bhp and the Jaguar XF's 5.0 385bhp???
If the jag engine a coyote?
Anyway cam selection and intake/exhaust accompaniment make most of the difference there. It's the reason the coyote engine doesn't produce 412 hp in the trucks. The cam profile shifts the power downward in the rpm range which then also reduces maximum hp.
to my knowledge they are not the same engine , I think ford has sold them long before it came out. i could be wrong could have been co-devolped. range rover uses the same engine as jag. they are very good my parents have a supercharged one in their sport and it is really fun. hope this helps
these Limey lovers say that the engines are different but the jag 5.0 is descended from a ford design.
They may have discontinued the engine series but Jaguar V8s are referred to as the AJV8. It is not the same engine as the Coyote.
