We installed a Kenne Bell 2.8 LC on my 2013 GT500. Like many of you I didn't want to replace my factory hood and the Kenne Bell 3.6 LC requires an aftermarket hood. Working closely with Jim Bell at Kenne Bell we discussed the merits of a 2.8 on the 2013 GT500 and power and torque with different pulley combinations. The attached dyno graphs have specific bar points that provide Horsepower, Torque and Boost at different RPM. The objective quite simply was to see how much power and torque is needed at peak levels and at varying engine RPM with a Kenne Bell 2.8 on 93 pump gas.

RunFile 17 BLUE is with a 3.00" upper pulley
RunFile 20 RED is with a 3.25" upper pulley

All dyno pulls were done with a Kenne Bell 5" intake and Dual 75MM Throttle Body. Next testing session will be with the Kenne Bell 128MM Oval Throttle Body.

*Note: I open track my 2013 GT500 and never tach the car over 6,000 engine RPM on track. My recent visit to Daytona International Speedway was with the 3.25 Upper pulley only.

Graph #1
Boost @ 6,000 RPM: 3.00" Upper Pulley 15.67 lbs
Boost @ 6,000 RPM: 3.25" Upper Pulley 13.12 lbs

What's impressive in the findings for me is the horsepower, torque and lower boost to accomplish the power figures. This was all done with a stock lower damper.

Thanks. Have you replaced the clutch yet? I understand you have to tilt the motor up to get the tranny down. Wondering if the KB will hit the firewall like the Whipple does and cause you to have to remove the blower to replace the clutch?

Just lower the k-member. A lot easier than removing the supercharger.

Stock everything else...exhaust etc...

Which would be better/safer/more efficient? KB 2.8lc or your 13-6 kit with the added 2.4" pulley? It would seem that the #'s would be similar. The TVS would have better torque I presume and the 13-6 with the 2.4 would a lot cheaper....thoughts please.

I loved my KB on my '10 gt500 but the numbers that I am seeing from the stock blower are impressive!

Van, you seem to be the expert...could you answer or elaborate on my post?

Reality is the KB 2.8 makes more power than the 13-6 Kit. 13-6 Kits with E-85 are making similar power as my car with 93 pump. And those cars are running overdrive lower pulleys as well thus the higher torque readings etc.

The 13-6 Kit is still a great option. Make 700 RWHP fairly easily with a pulley, CAI and a tune. If you want closer to 800 RWHP then the Kenne Bell is the way to go. Regardless of the graphs and everything you see, my car pulls like a damn freight train.

The KB 2.8 has less engine parasitic drag so it makes more power at the same boost pressure as the TVS. Add long tubes in to the mix and my car will actually get better. I'm still running stock manifolds and an off road H pipe as part of my testing and tweaking.

Feel free to give me a call and we can discuss even more in depth if you would like.

Thanks for the post and the questions.

Van
