Messed up a spot on my bumper. Can it be fixed without repainting?

Hi,
I was cleaning behind my license plate and the plate fell and nicked the bumper. I got one of those detailing pens, the ones use to polish or something and I tried to buff the nick. I then tried a 3000 grit sandpaper. Obviously, I screwed up. Can this be fixed or do I have to repaint the whole bumper?

Try covering the white with your blue......just enough to cover it then spray clear on it and see if it's presentable?? If not repaint the bumper or get a bumper sticker ya like to cover it!!

You're probably going to need to repaint the bumper. You could try jsantana91's suggestion first. I had something similar happen with my old Mini Cooper S. I had a nick on the hood and a very good paint shop (friend of mine) tried to buff it out. Actually made it worse and I had to repaint the entire hood. Sucks!

I was able to use Meguiar’s Scratch 2.0 to clean it up. It removed the cloudiness and haziness. I just need to polish it up now. Thankfully, I didn’t go through the clear oat.

The white part is where my trunk lid hits the bumper. It happened on my 99 Cobra too so i’m guessing that is a usual thing

Well, that's good news! Glad you found a solution. That's special paint that you want to keep pristine..

It's dark so I couldn't get a good pic but here's where it's at right now.

I've got a detailer coming over to polish the car and finish it.

I work in paint department for a car factory, look like you take a chunk of clear coat off, I would stay away from that area, no buff, polish, sand around that area. make sure you tell your detail what you done, mabe he can have it test to see how much clear you have left before burn thru the paint.
