Those 3.15 gears are killing your 60' times and your overall time. 3.73's or 4.10's and a decent stall and your looking at 1.6 60's and knocking on the door to the 10's. I would opt for the 4.10's with your current 305 tire. The car will still be very street friendly with that combo.
So, a friend of mine put a waste gate on his vortech blown '14 and a smaller blower pulley to have the boost to be higher down low and then adjust it to make 10lbs up top. He had it dyno tuned yesterday. Picked up 50-70ft lbs down low and held it at a peak of 10lbs up top. It's a stick car, but that could help you out without changing the gear. Just a thought.
Do you mean a wastegate setup? That is another good idea. I have like a million possible paths forward:
1- stall converter
2- gear change
3- tire change?
4- wastegate setup
5- suspension upgrades? (drag shocks)
so, first run on e85 last night was my best. 11.300 @ 127.7 (1.926 60'). Finally broke 100 in the 1/8 with a 100.8 mph. It is moving for sure but gears are going to have to change for me to cut a decent 60'. I can keep trying but the start is just too slow still no matter what I do. Sending data logs to Lund because it looks like there is still room in it for more timing (-4 degrees knock in some areas still). 22.5 deg timing max, 19 deg min in the runs.
While gearing would help I think your best bet would be to put a converter in the car. No reason your 60 wont be in the 1.5-1.6 range with a converter swap alone.
If you do a gear swap you are still going to be leaving at the same RPM with little to no boost. Sure you will get into boost faster but with a converter you will be leaving in your power band and the car will leave harder.
Ya I hear ya on the converter. Definitely what I want but pregnant wife means keep it cheap. Horsepower is definitely where I wanted it, slowly upgrading suspension sounds like the next few years for this car.

Currently I have 305/40/18s but may go back to 285/40/18s or 305/35/18s. All combos net a near 140-145 mph rev limiter in 4th gear which is more than I think this car will ever trap. My current tire combo with 3.55s would actually be the worst at a near 150 mph trap speed. I am sure eventually I will move to some sort of a slick but the current 27.6" tall tire is still probably close to the max slick size I would try to fit in there right? Maybe a 28" (which I used to run on my hoosier QTP 11.5x15 wide in my last car) but right now I want to keep using the 18" rims I bought for the car. Considering changing the gears this week to get ready for the winter.
Current best is in sig but 128 mph at 2000 DA so on a cold day I am expecting a 130-132 or so mph best with current setup. Not really looking for more HP in the near future, near limits of stock block.
The more research I do the more I think a gear may not even help me that much. I am starting to agree I need a bigger stall... everyone keeps telling me that and I keep resisting due to $$.
So I was gonna keep racing through the summer to try and get my 60's down but I broke my hand playing softball diving for a ball... 4 weeks off drag racing.. I need to keep practicing for the cold weather. If I can even get in the 1.8s I will be happy.
