My 2012 Coyote Build

I'll try to detail my build a little bit on here and add key points to the post.

Previous mods, track times and dyno numbers.

  1. At AED's dyno in CA the car put down 466RWHP on 91 Oct. But I normally run the car on E85 and now have a better flowing exhaust, so I would think the car is closer to 485 RWHP now.
  2. I live in the mountains and race in 6000-8000 DA, so my track times are significantly different than the Maryland boys. It has been a best of 12.2 at 117 on motor with a 1.7 sixty foot and a best of 11.5 ET and MPH of 125.4 on spray. To put this into context, a stock S197 Coyote at my track will typically run a 13.7 at 106 mph.
  3. The mods at the time were CJ intake, pypes/speedmaster headers, baby CJ cams, mono blade, AED tune and a 100 shot.

Interesting teardown observation
See how the carbon is only in the centers of the pistons on the passenger side of the motor.

This is because this side of the engine either gets less nitrous or more fuel.

Now, here is the carbon from the driver side of the engine, notice how the carbon extends to the outer edge of the piston. This means that this bank sees less fuel or more nitrous. I adjust my nitrous fuel jetting on from 02 readings on the driver side of the motor.

Note:
I'm not sure if this is because my fuel pump is struggling or if the design of the nitrous plate system is to blame, but this is what a 5% bank to bank variance looks like.

There is definitely an uneven bank to bank distribution of fuel that I need to investigate. My fuel pump did just die before I tore the car down.

Here is a nitrous pull datalog from the driver side of the engine. I have my kit setup to hit with fuel prior to nitrous.

That's definitely a nice build in the works. Looking forward to see your new numbers when it's complete.

You need to have your intake plumbed direct port it's a lot better than the plate

I would love to have a direct port, but I plan on going to boost someday and ditching the nitrous setup. I really don't like the distribution issue that the plate causes. As you can see in the pictures, one bank is rich and the other leaner.

Damn. I need to get into the head rebuilding business.

Build looks amazing and congrats for taking a different direction!

This will be a fun car to drive with ridiculous throttle resposne.

Very solid flow numbers. Real close to JPC stage 3 ported heads.
