No, I agree with you. A lot of Viper guys have had little pieces of gravel get between the caliper and wheel and tear the shit out of both.

I guess I'll just keep knocking on wood.
I could see that happening, but it would have to be a pretty specific occurrence. I do worry about the ceramic coating on my R's wheels chipping away over time.

How thick are they new?

I could go and measure them but it isn't necessary as they are about the same thickness as most any other production pad. They are large and cover quite a bit of surface area but when pushed at the track the compound and physical thickness don't lend themselves well longevity-wise.
