Hey guys, my son's Shaker 500 CD player died. I was looking to just buy a used OEM head unit and swap it out, car is 07 GT. $150 buck used Shaker 500 units on Ebay. Is Dealer programming required for this type change out? Or, better to just get an aftermarket head unit?
He is 16 and doesn't really know the purpose of the CD player anyway. The CD changer displays errors and is always trying to correct itself, doesn't kill the battery but is annoying. You know how it is with the girlfriend thing.
He plugs his phone into the jack in the console and listens to that country music.
I don't understand the purpose of that...
