T56 value

So I'm looking for some help to figure what my transmission is worth. It is a t56 out of an 03 cobra with right around 30k miles on it. It is stock other than it has the viper spec input shaft. It has the stock bellhousing and an MGW shifter. I have a local transmission shop that is interested in taking it in on a trade to go towards a built 4r70w. He asked me to come up with a number of what I would want to get out of it. Any help is appreciated.

Two things to consider:

1) You are dealing with a transmission shop who's not going to give you retail value for it

2) Whatever deal you strike up, they're most likely going to offset some of that with the 4R70W price installed.

I would negotiate a price out the door for the 4R70W built and installed out the door without consideration of trading in the unit. Once you've come up with a price both can agree with, talk shop about what the T56 is worth. Personally, I think a number around $1200-1500 would be fair for them and you're not loosing your ass on the deal.

Sell the shifter and bellhousing on here. 150 for the shifter and 150-200 for the bellhousing. Don't take less than 1200 for the tranny either.
