Yep, almost makes you cry, but obsolete.
I believe they were going to use that landing gear for landing in snow......or possibly just rough terrain. I can't recall.

The airshow was from the Wildwood Naval Air Station in New Jersey. Right?
One of the coolest things I have ever experienced was one time when I was wake boarding on the Columbia River behind my uncles boat. I see my dad pointing to something behind me coming up on us and I can faintly hear the roar of a jet. The EA-6Bs fly through the canyon often so I pretty much knew what it was and what was happening. With perfect timing I pulled out hard outside the wake and shot back in doing a backflip just as the Prowler came down inverted and what I would guess maybe 100-150ft right over us. This was early 2000s so cell phones weren't what they are now which is really disappointing because it would have been an awesome picture.
