You ought to shop some of the big korean markets, if they're nearby.

Their prices are super low, and close to the same quality.

For instance, live lobsters can be had for $6.99 a pound, $14.99 at Giant.

Bags of live mussels are $3.99 each, $6.99 at Giant.

Hiring illegals help with the cost savings.

Hate to ruin your world but a ton of conservatives shop at the two nearest to me. I don't shop there because there is a snob mentality in there and I don't feel like I should pay 2-3 times more for groceries when I know I can get the same products with the same quality or better at other groceries.

In my experience WF is about equal in price to any other chain store for equivalent quality products (meats and veg).

So they tried to implement JIT inventory practices, didn't pilot the process, and failed miserably?

Why am I not surprised?

I was just going to say, this sounds like a accounting problem. Just in time doesnt seem smart here.

WF is about the only place you can get a good dry aged steak around me.

They aren't cheap but once or twice a year we will make the drive to the other side of town to pick up a couple of really nice steaks. I like them even more than the local meat market steaks, but maybe that's because they don't offer dry aged.
