i guess the blower mod will shut the termi guys pie holes.

Non-Forged internals + high compression = Your going to be asking the terminator guy for a ride home.

No sense in playing the "if it gets what mod when" game, no one can win that argument lol.

The '11 5.0s internals are not weak like the previous s197 internals.

I do hate to see how some SVT owners feel like their ***** are 3 inches larger because they have a cobra on their fender, c'mon guys, leave that cockiness for bowtie owners.

Howsa 'bout a 2.3 L Whipple @ 7 psi making over 600 horsepower on stock internals ?

OVER 600 WITH JUST 7 PSI...

It's happening as I type... C'mon... Don't hate, bothers... We're all Mustang family here...

I KNOW you guys have to be tickled to see FORD release a Mustang with over 400 HP... ALL MOTOR...

Great quote and a reasonable observation. Conversely, it is always humorous when a Mach owner touts a Kill versus a stock New Edge...when their car is 2years newer with better gears and an under-rated motor. Makes the original comparison herein even more humorous as is any "Kill" won versus an unequal competitor.

One "Kill" we can all agree on is the fact that the Mustang has gotten consistently better with every new release...with recent developments making quantum leaps. The relatively bullet-proof Coyote...improved chassis, superior handling and weight-control... shows Ford has really been listening to it's fan base. I'd wager much of what they heard came from SVTP!! Despite owning the bastard step-child of SVT I couldn't part with my New Edge (flawed IRS be damned...but precisely why I'll keep it) BUT DAMN I want an '11 GT or '12 BOSS in the worst way. Bravo Ford!!!!

That 600hp your talking about is at the crank. So 500rwhp + is where the bottom end reaches its limit.

The 5.0L should make around 600hp @ 7psi which is the maximum boost level recommended for the stock bottom end.

That is what they are saying in this article

Did I ever say anything about what it could or couldn't take with stock internals?

My post was dedicated to the Coyote haters talking about if we did this, or that... etc... it would shut your pie holes.

Well hell, if I bungy corded a Sputnik rocket to the hood of the 5.0 it would shut yer pie holes.:loser: If if's and but's were candy and nuts...

To get over 600 HP with just 7 psi is phenomenal !! And just so you know, I do realize this 600 plus HP gain was at the motor...I never said anything about WHP...

Besides... Nothing a little call to Diamond Pistons wouldn't solve !!

Nice man...Good kill!
5 or 6 lenghts might be stretching it a little though....
Jusy my opinion...but you should find a MACH 1 with a few more bolt ons. The stock 3:55 with a 245 45ZR (traction) do not let the MACH 1 shine. I think a MACH with 4:10s, headers /cat-back with some DRs would be a better match up. I would be interested in seeing that one. Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to run into a new 5.0 or SS yet. I would love to know where I stand with my N/A setup.

+1 The mach was basically stock with no tune and you had exhaust and a tune. You basically come with shortie headers and 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust vs his crimped, 2.25 inch, and 4-cats exhaust.

Jesus, are you guys still talking about this?!

BOTH cars are awesome! But yes, time does go on and we should all be celebrating the fact that we can buy new a great car like the '11 GT.

OP's story is very believeable and realistic, I expected as much.

ps - I'm waiting for a Bullitt edition GT/Boss. Love that color, love that simpleness of mods only in the right places.

Dude..I am gald someone said that. I was not going to say it because than I would be considered a hater of the new GT. (which I am Not:bowdown:) Anyone who owns a MACH 1 know that it came pretty plugged up from the factory. That damn POS 4-cat system was put on there just to squeeze that car through the emmissions approval.
I would hope that all the 2011 GT owners do not use this one particular race to get cocky with all MACH 1s. Remember, the MACH 1 has been around since 03. This means that people already have had lots of time to mod this car..... some pretty intensly. I am not saying that a full bolt-on MACH will take you by multiple cars, but if driven right, will run right beside you. :coolman:

Thats fine man. I'm not a coyote hater. I was just responding to a commment above. I can't wait to see what this 5.0 does with some more mods+ a supercharger

Forget the S/C. I want to see what these things can do with cams, P&P heads/intake, and all the supporting mods all N/A.

i thought all factory mustang GT/MACH/CObra exhausts were all POS?? did Ford go out of its way to make the 2011 5.0's more free flowing than the rest of it's prevous pony's?

This is some thread, i agree that machs and gt's are closer than machs and cobras. From personally seeing races of them myself. Their not A LOT closer, usually i see cobras inhale machs, like its nothing, and machs take gt's by 2-3 car lengths but then continue to pull real hard. Im so glad you made that much power on the dyno z28th1s! excellent numbers, finally ford put the right motor in a GT. :)

who is doing that? technically (while the 5.0 is extremely impressive) the 03 ~ 04 Cobra still maintains an advantage.

How so? From a roll I believe the 5.0 will hold the advantage. No heat soak, better gearing and a power biased top end. Maybe the cobra will hang on the first run then it will start to fall back

Plus the internals are not weak and they dont need as much boost.

It's closer than most would think.

Both cars have bolt-ons, Cobra is pullied.

In my defense....

At the time track times were being done in the summer heat without the fall DA that brings sick times. Fastest runs at the time where high 12s around 110mph if memory serves. A lot changed in the past 9 months. I even thought I would be a close race with one back then... LoL.
