I'm glad to hear when other people know about BG!!!:) There stuff isnt exactly cheap but I dont run any other products in anything I drive that I plan on running hard.Even my daily rides have their products in them.

I have run there products in my 03 f150 it has 200k on it. I have drove the piss out of it and it still just running just as good it did I bought it new. I haven't replaced a drivetrain parts on it and have been off roaded drove to the east and west coast pulled a 30 foot boat on long distance trips multiple times. I wouldn't run another product in any component of my vehicle. If anyone hasn't heard of bg you need to use it!!! Hands down best product out on the market!!

My car only has 10 thousand miles on it and it was pretty notchey and not all that smooth. I put they Pennzoil syncromesh in it and now its 10 times better it was a huge difference I would highly recommend.

HOLY COW!!!
I installed a B&M shifter a while back and thought this thing was pretty rough shifting but i changed the fluid to Pennzoil Synchromesh Fluid just last week and it almost feels like the stock shifter again lol made a big difference in the harshness of changing gears just seemed smoother....
btw i went to pepboy oreillys autozone nobody had it
i found it at Advance auto they had 4 containers on the shelf which is what you need..
takes a little less than the 4 quarts i dumped them into a gallon container and used a fluid pump(like for doing gear lube in the rearend) to pump it into the trans from underneath (i have a lift so it makes it easier..)
thanks guys for the tip.. next up
Anti venom mod found the 13/16" copper washers at pep boys while i was looking for syncromesh $1.79 i think for 2 washers..

I did both the synchromesh, and the washer mod at the same time, so I don't know which made the biggest difference, but it is MAJOR different (in a good way!). Really glad I did these!

where can we get the BP stuff locally in oklahoma?

You mean BG correct?? Check around local garages and dealerships. If you cant find any,,I personally know a BG product demo guy,,thats where my shop buys products from. Actually he has his own website thats not affiliatied really with BG,but I do believe he sells some of the product off of it..You will want to ask him about the product called Synchro Shift. He will probably also recommend you run BG's MGC additive as well,,its an extreme pressure additive for gear boxes and what not. You can email him if you do not see this product on his webpage which is index.. Tell him Dustin sent you,,maybe he will cut you some slack I dont know.. We are good friends.

Is there a drain plug or does the old need to be sucked out? Can you refill it without removing the shifter?

The drain plug is pretty easily accessible. The fill hole is not as easy. If you use a siphon pump, you shouldn't have any issues. A siphon pump comes in handy with many things on this car. I know it's a necessity to refill the differential.

as stated there is a drain plug and a fill plug...
i changed mine and when i did i dumped the 4 quarts of pennzoil from advance into
a clean milk jug then used a siphon pump, also available from advance auto.
and pumped it in the fill plug as your suppose to.
i could never see myself trying to dump 4 quarts of red oil through the shifter hole i would be fearful of spilling some on the seats or the carpet lol besides its just more work to take the shifter out..
remove drain plug, empty..
replace drain plug
remove fill plug
pump oil in till it comes out fill hole
replace fill plug done..
the pump is like $7.00 at advance i think and you normally use it for changing gear oil in the rearend but ive used it for alot of other things... i actually have 2. 1 for gear oil one for trans oil (ATF)

I use a few of the BG products myself. I was looking at the MGC additive you mentioned and it appears from the product description on their site that you squeeze the lube out of the tube. No info on how much to be used based on the numbers of qts going in. Seems to be a deal where the shifter is going to have to come off to squirt some of it in there.

you can use the whole tube of MGC it wont hurt anything. I'm a big fan of the BG product line. When it comes to oil additives I wont use anything else. I like BG because they are products for proffessionals. You have to be a garage or dealership to buy it and the consumer has to purchase it from us garages and/or dealerships. Im sure many on here have used products such as Lucas and what not,,but I just do not agree with that product. Atleast the Lucas additives I've seen for sale to the public on parts store shelves. Rubbish IMO!!

That's great info. I appreciate it. Out of curiosity which oil additives from BG would you recommend?

I first off run thier hi-lo30 which is a 0w-30 motor oil in both my Camara and my Cobra,,has a service life of 15,000miles which I wouldnt do anyways..IMO much better than royal purple,,first off BG does not have to follow the API spec down to the "T'' with it because they market it as a performance oil and not a street oil. They can add xtra anti-wear and what not to it that most oils on the shelves dont have much of. Its still a streetable oil which wont hurt cats.. but anyways besides that I run their MOA which is an oil additive which we use in every oil change at our shop. This adds anti-wear and more friction modification to any oil used in an engine. Extends drain life. They make additives for all oil products used in the automobile.. Super cool for the antifreeze, synthetic ATF fluid,,ATC+ trans conditioner, power steering conditioner, Semi-synthetic and full synthetic power steering fluids available,,MGC gear concentrate,LS2limited slip additive and they have a both a semi synthetic 75w-90 gear oil along with a full synthetic version. Sorry to those in advance who my feel this is a hi-jacking of the OP's thread :(

Thanks for going into detail about that. I think I'm going to do some oil analysis on my car and see how comparable BG's 0w-30 is to the German castrol 0w-30 I run.

Adding to all that, most of these fluids that get used in the T-56 are the equivalent of a 20wt motor oil (or an 80W gear oil). The SAE measures the viscosity in what is called "CentiStokes" (cSt) @ 100C (212F). The higher the number, the higher the viscosity.

For a 20wt, the cSt range is 5.6 - 9.3
For a 30wt, the cSt range is 9.3 - 12.5

With all that in mind, here are the viscosity numbers for many if the fluids for the T-56:

Redline MTL: 10.6
Amsoil Synchromesh: 9.6

Penzoil/GM Synchromesh: 9.08
Royal Purple Synchromax: 7.7
Amsoil ATF: 7.6
Redline D4 ATF: 7.5
Motorcraft Mercon V: 7.5
Mobil 1 ATF: 7.5

For what it is worth, if you ask Tremec directly, they will tell you that Mobil1 ATF is what they recommend.

Adding this for a good reference:
