I'm a big fan of Xzilon paint protector! I had it installed 7 months ago on my Black Escalade and now on my stang it's awesome! I know this stuff works I live in florida now and the love bugs will eat right through the cars clearcoat within 48hrs if not cleaned off! My 03 cobra and my srt jeep has been victoms! After having it installed and going through a season of love bugs my front end is perfect. Granted I do come home and clean them off but there has been times where I haven't until the next day or been on vaction and forgot my Zano spray shine.
For anyone buying a new stang I recommand this stuff even if your not in florida it also stops acid rain and bird droppings which shows up real bad on black and dark color cars. If you have ever had to compound acid rain out of a car's finish you know what I'm talking about! I paid $500.00 and had the whole car done at the dealer. You can buy this stuff on ebay much cheaper but you don't get the warrenty.

My brother had this done on his new WRX. He got it as overall exterior and interior protection and the fact he isn't a big car washer. I think it works great for the money. The only thing that I laughed at is the dealer who sold him the package told him it would be helpful in resisting dents on the car from objects lightly bumping into it. That is a load of BS.

lol

Yeah thats funny! Stops dents! lol
I'm also a huge fan of Zaino! Zaino is great for shine and filling small swirl marks in the paint and it protects pretty good. It's all I would use on my blk 03 it worked the best. This stuff is 10x better at protecting the paint from sap, bird droppings, acid rain, love bugs (fla) ect. As for shine I don't think it helps that much. Lets put it this way I have a black new Escalade I can drive it through a brushless car wash and due to it's slick propertys It gets perfectly clean. Also you know those hard water spots that are on the paint that are very hard to get off if you don't wipe the car down right away they don't exsist the water runs right off and if it does dry on the paint it wipes off very easily! NO HARD WATER SPOTS.
I'm the last guy on this site that believe's in snake oil products but this one get an A+ it's almost to good to be true. It should come from the factory already applied!! As long as my paint doesn't fall off this stuff is the shit!!

A couple of questions:
Since it doesn't do much for shine can you wax or polish over it?
Since it's warrantied for 5 yrs, I'm assuming it doesn't need to be re-applied? Is the eBay stuff legit?
What's the big deal with applying it that you need a professional?

i did some googling on it, and anecdotal evidence seems to be positive, but there is a lot of hate on it of course from the "professional detailers"(guys who smear meguiars on in their driveway). a lot of people say it won't work, but they don't have anything to support this, not even anecdotal evidence.
the biggest feature of this stuff doesn't seem to be the product it self, but the warranty you get with it. apparently, they will cover any paint damage up to $1,500 for 5 years(new car, 3 years on a used car), and also cover your carpet, leather, and hard surfaces. if they can't fix the leather then they will replace it. that's a hell of a warranty if you ask me.
price seems to vary, between $200 and $600.
haven't seen anything that says it'll give you a "show quality shine", it just sounds like a very durable sealant to me. not for the guy who wants to wax his car every other month.
it doesn't need any sort of annual maintenence application like other sealants.
if you buy this stuff to apply your self, it does have a shelf life after the seal is broken(2 weeks i think). evidently there is some important crap in it that evaporates(paraphrasing obviously:D).
waxing WILL remove it and void the warranty.

personally, i would get this dealer installed on a daily driver, so that i get the warranty benefits(seats/carpet are bound to get stained, just a matter of time). i wouldn't get this for a weekend car(assuming i actually waxed my vehicles), because you can't wax/polish it.

so are you commenting on this product in specific or just generalizing? anecdotal evidence holds more water than a generalization. some claims might be a bit ridiculous(1 application = 5 years? doubt it), but it doesn't mean that it doesn't work at all.

Hmm

I have had it on my Black Cadillac Escalade for 10 months now it's no scam!! The florida love bugs wipe right off!! Without it there a bitch and they etch the paint. I do agree that it can't last for more then 2 years or so nothing can they claim 5. lol
