Funny thread over on the Corral. Guys getting all bent out of shape about 93' Cobras and what's the big damn deal:

[ame=http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?p=10122499#post10122499]$53,000 1993 cobra - Corral.net : Ford Mustang Forums[/ame]

I think that for the most part, those of us who have one don't think they're a big deal, just like'em for what they are, period.

I gave up on The Corral years ago because it is overrun with morons.

I loved the comment on the 93R:

"Cause IMO, just because only 107 were ever made doesn't make it any more desirable."

Kind of doesn't understand the basic premise of collectibility.

That is the most ridiculous thread I've read in quite a while! thanks for the laughs!

...and really, if you notice, it turned into a 2v-npi-bash-fest and had nothing more about the cobras after page 1 :)

Well, it's better then some of the guys asking $75k for them just a year ago. I think he's ballpark.

Honestly, I'd rather have the 95R if I had my choice........or a Termi.

I took my car to the track last year for the first time in a long time. I had several guys come up to me asking me if it was a real Cobra because they had never seen one. Really? I was shocked, as they're not that rare.

A lot of the younger gen drivers simpy don't like the Fox cars. The headlights are too big, and the cars just aren't as sleek as the newer stuff, or have all the creature comforts.

To each his own I say.

It's great! I haven't had it but a little over a week, so no clutch pedal issues or tick noise some are complaining about. The visor mirrors are cheap, lol but that's it. Very nicely done in my opinion. Handling and everything is amazing. Still love the '93 tho! That will never change.

You're right, it might be a lot of younger drivers, but not all.....about 2 weeks ago I picked my daughter up from school and as I was stuck at a traffic light, a guy next to me was frantically honking his horn and waving at me, so I roll down the window, and it's some young guy, maybe 20, if that, and he goes "That's a 1993 Cobra! That's my DREAM CAR!! I love you man!!"

I was shocked that a 'kid' of 20(ish) knew what a '93 Cobra even was!

I would always have people ask me - especially young guys - if my car was a real 93 cobra. When I first got my car I actually thought people were being sarcastic or trying to give me a hard time but after talking with them I realized they had never seen a real 93. At the last show, a guy asked me how I did the front bumper insert because he thought it looked real nice. I then explained to him that it was a 93 cobra and it came that way. A lot of people think the 93 had their own special bumper that had the insert molded in.

I'm not saying it's all the younger gen, just seems like they're the majority. I've had plenty really geeked up by the cars also.

93 cobra :rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon:

Is all I have to say.

I would do anything to go back in time and purchase a new one of the showroom floor.

Just out of high school back then and jumped in to soon and bought a 92 gt. If I had only waited a few months I could have had a 93 cobra.

Just fyi I'm 20 and bought a 92 GT when I was 18 as a dd. Although my particular car has seen better days not all of us "younger crowd" dislike Foxes. I must say at first they weren't my favorite but they quickly grew on me especially when I realized their unlimited potential.

Yeah, if I could go back in time too...

I bought an '89 GT that was leftover on the showroom floor at the end of the year when the '90's were on the lot, so I got a pretty good deal.
As soon as I heard about the '93 Cobras I was at the dealership asking questions. Fnckers in Poulsbo were trying to get $5k deposit just to get on the list! Yeah... I went down to Bremerton and talked to them. They said they were due to get some in the next few days.
The next morning I get a call "2 just came in on a truck", so off I go "just to check them out". Well, they were both identical teal cars, gray leather, sunroof. Now, I had my heart set on a black car, so...
Then the dealer proceeds to tell me that Teal is a Cobra-only color (*cough*for93*cough*), and how many black mustangs are out there? Lots...

Well, they are nice enough to give me a great price on my '89GT, due to some sort of sale they are having, and they didn't even mark up the '93 Cobra like other stealerships were! How could I refuse :)

So, me and '93 enjoyed 9 throttle-mashing years of good times!

Now, about that "back in time" business... Early summer in 2002 I take my car in to Firestone in San Mateo for alignment and tire rotation, like I do regularly. When I come in to pick up my car the kid behind the counter sees the logo on my shirt and asks if thats where I work. "Yeah"..."where is that?"..."oh, it's over in Belmont"... "cool, here are your keys"...

Later that week my car disappears from the parkinglot at work.

If I could go back in time, I would have had LoJack put in my '93, and a killswitch, and never answered questions about where I lived or worked.

/sigh... at least I got my '03 to ease the pain, right?
