Hi,
Hopefully we may have an ex svt Ford or Roush employee in this forum.

I have seen 5 or 6 lower intakes for the y2k cobra r and have noticed that many of them are dated 6/00, my question is, since all 300 cars were built in 3/00, and most all of the engines were assembled in late 1999, why was Ford's vendor still casting them after the cars were built? was it their intention to sell them through Ford Racing?

thanks again

Bill A.

IIRC they cast around 50 spares. Are you getting the dates off of intakes that came off a car? The one I have is #329 cast 6/15/2000. At one time I also had number 348.

Also roughly two-three years agos. MP Mike was saying that FRPP considered releasing the 00R's and the scaled down Boss piece but that the Aussies wouldn't play. I guess the numbers didn't crunch, for them to do it with the R pieces.

Ahhh, that explains it then....I have 3 spares, all dated 6/2000 (day and # are different on each)

So I guess these were to be used as service parts....thanks guys
