Also, did you use an adjustable pivot ball?

I see why some guys say this clutch will work with the stock pivot ball, because it will "work", but.....to correct the clutch fork angle you really need a shorter pivot ball. The best I could tell, the RXT clutch setup is about .250 thicker than the stock clutch setup. This extra thickness made the TOB contact the pressure plate fingers that much sooner than with the stock clutch. The clutch fork starts off that much further toward the rear and that quarter of an inch change in the center (at the TOB) makes about one inch difference out where the cable hooks up. It also made my LDC freeplay spring worthless because the TOB was touching the pressure plate fingers long before any tension was put on the LDC spring.

I have not gotten that far yet, but I am planning on trying the stock pivot ball first and seeing where everything lines up. I have a firewall adjuster and quadrant with the stock cable. I was told that it should work fine like this. I'm sure I will find out soon enough. If I need to buy an adjustable pivot ball I will just order one.

Sounds good. I have a firewall adjuster too, but none of that matters really for what I was describing. I think you will see what I was talking about. Also, while I had the front cover off of the transmission, i just bolted it up to the bell housing so I could look at the clutch fork alignment and engagement without having to install the transmission. It made it super easy.

FYI...I ordered the McLeod pivot ball, but you have to cut it WAYYYY down. It is about an inch too long. Good luck. :rolling:

Thanks guys.

Well, I got a little more done this evening.

Pulled the 10 bolts from the front of the transmission and popped off the cover. Here is the stock 10 spline input shaft in all it's glory! :lol1:

Used a 2X4 and a BFH to pop out the stock throw out bearing retainer sleeve.

Here is the stock throw out bearing retainer sleeve on the left and the Lethal Performance one on the right. You can see the Lethal unit is thcker and far superior to the stock piece. Also note that the Lethal unit comes with a new O-Ring and transmission seal.

I pulled the races out and washer and cleaned up the front housing.

Then I headed over to skaarew04SVT's house so he could press in the new Lethal Sleeve. (Thanks Erik!)

Here you can see the new sleeve pressed in and the new seal.

Next up you simply put the new 26 spline input shaft in. (It just holds in place by a bearing and bottom gear. There's nothing to swapping it out. Just pop the old one out and pop the new one in. No tools needed)

I sealed the cover back up and bolted it into place. Here you can see the finished product.

Note: I had Zero End Play with the D&D shaft. No shims were needed. I just reused the factory one.

Next up, bolting it back in the car! :burnout:

I'll let you know for sure. Even if I finish it up I am still waiting on my throttle body from Billetflow.

Today I purchased:

Mcleod RXT 26 Spline Clutch
Mcleod lightened steel flywheel
D&D 26-spline input shaft.
Very Nice!

outstanding Kev! Looks like you were a busy little beaver last night. I'll call you later after the days events. Oh FYI I failed to mention I have my neighbors 40th bday dinner surprise tonight. I know you'll be able to get the tranny in on your own.....but if you need my hands, it will have to wait till tomorrow.

Did I read this correctly. You are going with a SBTB Kev. I never thought the day would come. LOL

Anyway Thanks for the write up. This is the same clutch that I am going with.
