On a stock 09 gt500, when running the 1/4 what rpms are you guys shifting? Do you run it to redline in the first 3 gears or short shift?

Our cars make peak power at redline so shift there or above it if you have a tuner. Your ET look's good but you MPH seems low, is that due to short shifting?

i was trapping about the same mph when i was stock. I was shifting into fourth though. I started leaving it in 3rd and i started trapping 112 to 115. Keep it in third all the way through the traps even if it is hitting the limiter.

Most likely you have to short shift 1st-2nd if your car is stock or you'll just spin. Try 5500 at the first shift and change up or down by 100 rpm or so until your hooking going into second. Redline after that. It also will depend on the track conditions, weather etc.

I shifted at 5900 in all gears and went thru the traps in 4th. I was thinking the same thing about my trap speed being low which is the reason why I asked the question. Someone else posted a response saying they run the 1/4 finishing in 3rd. Is that what everyone is doing?

Buy a set of gears that lets you maximize your rpm/power. Plain and simple.

I hit the line at 6300-6400 in 4th with 4.10s and 28" tires. 129-132 mph. Factory Eaton.

Trust me, you weren't the first or the last.

That "thumbs up" smiley has caught a number of people.

Seriously though.... do what you need to in terms of gears and tire size that allows you to hit the peak power. If you've dyno'd it you can see. If not, include that in your list of mods and do some driving and logging of data.
