2011 GTs have trapped 113mph+, in positive DA conditions. The GT has shit tires, and a poorer weight distribution.

Look at the video I posted, the GT starts to walk the faster they go. I think the 3.73 gear does make a huge difference though, since it makes a peakier powerband.

What I mean is if a guy goes in to buy a Camaro and expects to punch it and hear and feel 426hp of tire roasting and gets nothing but a chirp because the TC and Stability are engaged they think the car is a dog. Most who testdrive these cars probably never ask to dissengage the nannies.

So much win in this thread

Not.

04nccobra, are you trying to make yourself feel better for selling a nice car just to downgrade? And it becomes a absolute beast? If you think a stock SS is a beast what did you think of your Cobra? I'm pretty sure it was a lot quicker

Wrong ls3 is not superior

LOL, gtfo.

LS3>coyote.

11 5.0>10-11 ss

Try pulling up to an 08+ vette, see what an LS3 can really do.

I dont understand why people are chewing the guys head off(the guy who bought the mEro) so what if its slower than the 11 GT. He will mod it, and make it quicker. Its his money, let him buy whatever he wants. (but if for a second you think the ss will be "infront" of a 5.0, youre wrong buddy:thumbsup:)

Well if there are any stock (I will check) 5.0s around NE NC that want to find out which is faster I am game. I'm not afraid to win or loose, I like both

Dude.... there is no need to "find out" which is faster. Its already been proven over and over and over again. How much proof do you need? The SS is slower than an 11 GT...fact. Start the modding and which is faster is a toss up...the LS3 is a very good motor...but its setting in a heavy ass car.

NO one is saying your afraid to win or lose.....just saying that they are NOT wrong when they say the SS does not feel like a beast...and it aint Traction Control.

Well we don't need any bias magazines, no custom tuned sponsor cars trying to sell parts, no prepped tracks, no youtube bs, no chilled intakes, or anyone not being truthful about mods on either side. Lets take two totally stock vehicles barely broken in on a deserted section of road from a dig or to a 1/8 mile track (there are several in the area opening soon). I am shocked that with all the internet confidence on here that I can't find one stock 5.0 owner who actually wants to test his car in this area. Hell when we had a mustang day cruise a few months back to the Outer Banks we must have had a couple hundred stangs attend.

I don't know about NE North Carolina; but SE North Carolina you'd be hard pressed to find a stock "5.0" Mustang.

All the one's around here have already been modded with several in the 11's with just a sticky tire and a few bolt on's.

 Do not be so ignorant. One internet dyno graph does not prove one to be superior or greater then the other.

so i was at my weekly car meet with some friends, and this asshat in a ss camaro kept driving by revving on us. he kept doing it so i jumped in my 2011 GT to chase him down. i pull up on him and ask him if hes down to race. he said no. i called him a bitch, then he said ok. we went to the closest straight and had a fun little race.

YouTube- 2011 5.0 beats SS camero

these 5.0 kids are gettin cocky

I'd put my money on the Camaro. Cammed LS3's should make what, almost 500?

JPC'c cammed coyote is 475rwhp. a cam only coyote will make about the same hp. bolt on coyote's are making the same power as the LS3.

my boss intake will be shipped next week. with the L&M throttle body, ill dyno it. updated tune from lethal also. the 5.0 isnt hamstrung like most think.

the factory intake manifold is a torque intake. the BOSS is a horsepower intake. im still predicting 475-480 rwhp cam only for the coyote.

all mods but head porting.

455rwhp for all bolt ons. throttle body, boss intake, tune, longtubes, offroad x, resonator delete, axleback, CAI.

we are at 435rwhp for current bolt ons. longtubes, offroad x, resonator delete, axleback, dyno tune, cai, DShaft.

There are some cam only LS3 Vettes making over 500rwhp but they're fairly radical. The Camaro puts down less to the wheels than the Vettes do though. A typical bolt on cammed LS3 Camaro will make 460-475whp. If you added a FAST 102/102 and a pretty wild cam you might be able to hit 500.

Have not seen much info on the FAST 102's on the LS3. The factory intake is pretty good. It will cost the LS owner more but he will have the option to jump to a much better head from Trick Flow or Performance Inuction and porting after that if his wallet has no bottom.

The 5.0 heads are so strong from the factory I would be suprised to see an aftermarket head developed.

LS3, cam, trickflow, FAST 102, full bolt on should put down better numbers than a cammed, ported, full bolt on 5.0. I would expect the torque difference to grow also. It is gonna cost the LS owner though for that win. I am glad the option is there though even though I am stuck with a dinosaur LS2.

Nothing but respect for the new 5.0.
