Just curious if anyone knows how to convert to an 04 Cobra radio from an 03.

I know you can add an iPod or MP3 player but Im not looking to do that.

Anybody make a conversion harness for this application?

Here is the reverse radio harness for the 04.

Scosche - Reverse Wiring Harness for Select 2003 or Later Ford Vehicles - FD23RB - Best Buy

And here is the harness that will fit the existing wire

Metra - Wiring Harness for Select 1998-2008 Ford Vehicles - Multicolored - 70-1771 - Best Buy

You should be able to wire them together and be fine. Just make sure to turn on the factory amps by wiring all the blue wires together.

I haven't personally tried this but it should work. Also why I gave you links to a best buy so that you can purchase them locally and if all else fails return them locally. But I'm pretty positive if wired correctly it will work.

Thats not bad at all. Thanks man. Ill give it a try.

By looking at it, it appears I can use it with newer radios then 04s as well? Not sure if a Shaker 500 would plug in or not cause it says 98-08 models.

I highly doubt the shaker will work because of the difference in the factory amps between the Mach 460 and shaker system

Can you explain the difference?

No I honestly don't know the particulars.

You could try it and if you do, please let me know how it turns out.

I just know from prior install experience that manufacturers are constantly changing things, obviously, and they typically don't make it easy to tie anything together. I assume the same applies here.

It will be more of a winter project but we will see how it goes. Im gonna keep looking for a plug and play harness setup to avoid cutting into mine incase it doesnt work for some reason.

The harnesses i showed you are plug and play and won't involve any cutting?

Oh, The picture showed loose ends.

Yeah all you'll have to do is connect the two harnesses together. Just get some butt connectors then It's even color coded so no worry. Hell if you ask best buy will probably give ya enough to connect the two harnesses together. Other than that it will be plug and play. That will be the most simple way to do it. If you have any questions on the wiring or anything pm me and I'll help ya out.

Correct, you're making a jumper harness... female 03 connectors to plug into your factory harness wired to male 04 connectors to plug into the radio

Thanks.
