No disrespect to LEO's but you don't see marines acting like this towards civilians here at home. What is going on with LEO's these days?

There has been a lot of veterans in the news lately, getting in confrontation with LE, civilains and getting into shootouts. PTSD FTL.

Tell that to the Marine I just had to interview for beating a local to within an inch of his life. All walks of life act like pure idiots at times.

:pop: popcorn anyone? Guess we shall see what happens after the whole video comes into play. Yeah, it doesn't look good with that little piece of video. I'm sure the soldier really only wanted to show the good part right. I'm sure the little sweet girl didn't do a darn thing wrong with anyone on that.bus. And, I'm sure the officers probably don't know a darn thing about her past episodes with other officers. Folks just really never do anything wrong do they? Nah, after all everyone is innocent. It looks to me like a darn good case of HARASSMENT! Those police officers must have entered that bus out of a thousand of other buses and decided to pick on the one gal. Yep, she might get rich, with your money.

Wow, thats terrible, in my own city too. I don't know why I have such a hard time applying for these different law enforcement agencies and I see stuff like this all over the news. Its very discouraging, I'm just a normal, calm guy that wants to become a LEO.

i used to work with severely disabled students. many whom were mentally retarded. all ages from pre-school to adults. ive had BIG high school kids assault me. punch me, kick me, bite me you name it. there's NO WAY we'd be able to clock one of them in the face in self defense.

i can understand if he was getting frustrated and felt like he was getting anywhere with her (instructing her). it happens. they can just keep blabbing and not do what you tell them to. but i dont think a right cross was in order :nonono: that's just poor training there. there are lots of mentally disturbed and mentally disabled people running the streets in LA now. especially with CA budget cuts and centers losing their funding. so the police need to be trained how to recognize these people and how to deal with them appropriately. if that lady is mentally retarded than she probably has the mental capacity of an 8 year old. this video could only be worse if the lady had down syndrome.

and this was a large woman. it would be even more disturbing to most people if it was a nice, petite little blonde. but some people will see her large size and mannish appearance and attempt to justify her being clocked like that. but a woman is a woman. you dont hit a woman, regardless of how they look. unless in self defense (ie being attacked).

Here they come. Taking it personal, like it was THEM on that bus.

Dude. It doesn't ****ing matter what she did before this. Even a firsthand, eyewitness statement from a well-spoken combat veteran that's familiar with rules of engagement [a vet that they lied to and intimidated BTW, considering CA doesn't have any laws against videotaping LEOs] with a VIDEOTAPE.

All that is not enough for you to even *consider* calling the LASD idiot on the bus...an idiot?

You REALLY had to start with a defensive swing against people in here, implying some kind of conspiracy to hate police? YOU'RE the ones conspiring to apply honey to everything bad you see about LEOs, no matter how blatant. Every other human/citizen is just reacting normally.

EDIT: I am severely POSITIVE that either you or someone like you will bring up her past that includes "assaulting an officer." You will use that, sight unseen, as some kind of defense for what the LASD officer did. However, you will NOT invoke the oft-repeated mantra of "you don't know the whole story," used by LEOs in here (as used by YOU above). You will not even remotely acknowledge that even THAT past charge could be trumped up as well. Especially against someone without the mental capacity to defend herself (and I don't mean physically).

Right. Try to take up for your brethren as if there are no such things as some cops doing things the wrong way...:pop:

It's funny how anyone would make any sort of attempt to justify that. I have several family members that are LEOs, I myself am in the Navy and never in any sort of law enforcement training are you taught to pull back and swing at someone in the face. What he did was unprofessional and not useful in taking someone down. It's sad bc it puts a bad name for all LEO's and nothing is ever done about it for once someone needs to get charged.

they received a call that a woman was on the bus trying to start fights with other passengers. these two officers than arrived at the scene.

im sure they didnt know anything about her past until after they processed her. unless she happens to be a known problematic person in the area (to the police) in which case i would imagine they would know how to deal with her better.

this doesnt mean all cops, or even LASD, are bad. im sure there are plenty who are trying to do the right thing every day and videos like these just make them all look bad. kind of like when you hear about about a preacher getting busted for molesting boys, although in those cases other preachers dont come running to his defense. not to equate battery with child molestation in any way. just the part about one guy making the rest look bad.

So Soldiers are good enough to go overseas and fight terrorists with the same morals and ethics as LEOs but when a LEO does something apparently wrong you're going to throw the Soldier under the bus.

BTW when a Soldier does something wrong they do face UCMJ and fellow Soldiers do not condone those actions even if there is a perception of wrongdoing. Perception is reality.

Although I am not a LEO i do work with them a good bit. Some people just lose control after awhile.

Maybe this person is a repeat offender that always resists arrest in a very physical manner.

Columbus Police attempted to arrest a man after he tried to abduct a woman. He was MRDD and it took 4 officers and many tazes to get him subdued.

I do not agree with the above footage, but maybe there is more to the story. Maybe that MRDD women just attempted to rob someone outside, maybe she was reaching for his gun and or mace ect.

and not to point out the obvious, but that cop is white, the film maker is black. This stuff is all to common. why the shit is he filming the cop anyway. I don't film cops when they are doing their job.

If the women didn't do anything major then this is def. to much force, but they were trying to arrest her for a reason, so she did something to violate the law, which we do not know.

OK. So now he is black racist US Soldier whose integrity is being challenged by a guy that works with LEOs "a good bit". You must really want a LE job bad.

That's horrible, but unfortunately stuff like this happens. Cops have to deal with difficult people all day, they're just people like anyone else, every so often they'll lose their cool and do something unprofessional.

As for this particular incident, anything less than having his badge taken away would be unacceptable. Mostly for the fact he threatened a bystander to cover up evidence of what he had done. There is no evidence of it, but I'll take the word of that Veteran over a cop who just punched a retarded lady in the face.

That goes beyond unprofessional-ism, that's abuse of power from a corrupt cop.
