You couldn't be more wrong. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. How does you being in the Navy have anything to do with law enforcement training? You have no knowledge of law enforcement defensive tactics.

In regards to this video....I'm not so sure that the elbow was the Deputies best option at that point. There are other options available if he needed to distract her or to move her off balance. The female Deputy should be reprimanded for standing there like a limp wristed piece of shit.

While getting into a fight in a bus may sound like loads of fun...It's not. The woman was clearly displaying violent tendencies in the video. At that point they were attempting to place her under arrest lawfully. She was disorderly and resisting arrest. How close would I let someone get to my face before I get them out of it? Not that close! But again, the elbow may have been a tad premature.

Just my honest/professional/experienced/trained opinion based upon the information available.

One of my collateral duties is ASF Auxiliary security forces, we patrol base armed in marked cars and ride along with federal police. Ive completed California's POST academy very recently so I think I'm somewhat qualified to say neither I nor My brother in law that works for City of Miami PD or my other Brother in law that works for Indian Creek PD Have ever been instructed that a useful tactic to take down someone being non compliant is to pull back and swing at them in the face with a close fist, and yes he did ball his fist and swing at her face his arm ran the distance of her face and was caught by his elbow, you will most likely hurt yourself worse than your going to hurt someone that is that pissed off. Until the point of the swing the female officer was holding her by the back and the male officer had control of both her fist.

This just in: Svtcop punches ladies in the face for yelling at him. More at 9.

You should really stop trying to justify a punch to the face in that situation, his own CO has even admitted that it was wrong.

Sent from my phone (no "i" needed).

This just in...crew_dawg16's reading comprehension owns him. Seriously dude, don't embarrass yourself. Go back and read what I wrote. :nonono:

SVTCOP's mentality is what make being a police officer so hard. We do it because we love the job and want to help the public. It just seems there is a generation of officers out there make bad choices. It gets in the media and is quite embarrassing.

That Deputy had hundreds of options before the "elbow" to the face. Her arms appeared to be down at her side. I think those two deputies could have put her in cuffs.

Mentality?? Care to respond as to why you didn't read and comprehend what I actually wrote? You're just bashing without supported facts and it's quite disturbing that a law enforcement officer (which you claim to be) would do something as such.

You completing a basic academy doesn't qualify you. Sorry. A strike to the face is a defensive tactic, always has been, always will be. If you know of instructors who don't teach it then I suggest you seek further instruction. You're being cheated.

A strike to the face is an option when appropriate, as with all other responses to resistance. PLEASE SHOW ME WHERE I SAID THE DEPUTY HAD ACTED APPROPRIATELY?

If you guys have ever been into a real fight on the job then you would know. Clearly this is a case of "bench racing". You've never applied these tactics, and if not trained on how to properly do it, you'll end up on the losing end of a fight when your other "options" are scattered throughout the area. I can't remember the last time I or another Officer I have worked with or trained has gotten into a real fight while on patrol and not lost half of their equipment during the fight. These holders are made of plastic and nylon, not steel. This shit breaks, easily.

Get out of your dream world. Good luck in your next botch slapping contest. See if the suspect will fight in the same manner. :bored:

SVTCOP If you were his SGT or LT would you back him up publicly to the press. You can say yes until your blue in the face but both of us know you wouldn't. There is a big difference between a life and death struggle and someone getting punched in the face to an untrained incompetent Police officer punching someone because he is frustrated.

This quote is taken directly from the California POST Training Handbook, the first training this officer had to take to become a California LEO. You mean to tell me in initial training they tell you not to do something and later on in more advanced training they tell you you can?

"Strikes. Use an open hand to the face or to other vulnerable areas such as the spine or diaphragm. Use a fist against a soft area such as the stomach. Use feet only against the legs, never above the belt."

I'm not going to debate something with you until you go back and read what I actually wrote. If you want me to quote it for you then just say so. But It's on a previous page. Shouldn't be hard to find.

Oh ****ing bull.

I've been in many altercations as a corrections officer, and I can tell you that a strike to the head/face is the LAST option you use. Your first, and only instinct should be to subdue, which means you attempt to incapacitate extremities or bodily take them down.

Striking the head is a lose/lose:
a) If you happen to strike hard enough, or are using a weapon, it can cause concussions and/or death -- you BETTER have a damned good explanation for why you did it, since you were obviously still standing and therefore physically capable enough to go through a number of takedown scenarios prior to aiming for the head.
b) If you DON'T strike hard enough, all you're doing is pissing off the inmate...and leaving your upper body open getting stabbed, a common tactic in prison.

They taught us many striking points and soft nerve spots--and none of them involves the face, except for cartilage on your nose, which is considered a lethal blow. Go back to point a) above to see what that involves.

I swear to ****ing god, the lengths you go to to fight for a scenario that's not worth defending. You're either a bad cop, or one that knows you'll find yourself in these situations...if you haven't already. Maybe attempting to justify the shit you've done yourself (at least in your mind), maybe?
