After dealing with horrible trade offers and 15k above MSRP prices I finally found a dealer in indy that was straight with me and we made a deal. I wanted black with stripe delete but this has white stripes, something i can deal with.

The reason why I am posting is that like I said some dealers want so damn much and I know this has been brought up. In the defense of people trying to buy I told the dealers that they were crazy and they need to realize what the rest of the market is. I had one call me today as I was driving mine back to see if we could work a deal, I told them sorry I already made one but maybe they should consider this for future clients.

Anyway, keep hitting them up on the markups and once they have the cars in the showroom for a month or so they will drop the markups!

Good luck for everyone waiting for an order or that is having trouble with dealers.

By the way PM me if you need a dealer with an allocation I cancelled and order today!

Why give the dealers ammo on the mark up when you can start with their invoice which is public info from the get-go?!

I am actually in mishawaka but close enough!

I'm not sure what you are getting at? I am just saying I told them straight up there has been a ton of people on here getting them for MSRP and they need to do their research and they can sell some cars. I mean they try to tell me that "everyone" is marking them up, well that's true and I personally know of 3 dealers that didn't mark them up. So in the long run when their car is left then maybe they will realize the markup was BS. Secondly, I think some dealers want to keep them for a bit to bring people in.

Why would you even want to pay MSRP to begin with? I mean just because others are that desperate to buy this Pony at or above MSRP doesn't mean everyone else should either. That's just creating a habit for the dealers to ass rape the consumers. As I mentioned before, I can walk into the dealership with $60K in my pocket and I still refused to pay MSRP. You honeselty think the dealer would let me walk out with that much cash in hand?! Ooooh they will negotiate alright and I will start from dealership invoice...

Are you still serious with this ? Everytime a dealer price thread come up you post more crap.

You have $60k in your pocket? How come you havnt bought one yet? Since you're so good at negotiating for one!

No one here is paying over MSRP- most are paying at or below- and don't use your bad methods.

Learn how to negotiate. Low balling is not a good strategy. Stop giving people bad advice that will get them laughed out of a dealership.

the way i looked at it, what i got for my srt8 and the deals i got for warranty and such i made out "under" msrp... numbers are just that, it doesn't matter where they come from if it works out...

by the way i doubt 60k in my pocket works because i told them I had another car the same driving distance for msrp and the OH dealer would drop TO msrp... so i highly doubt if you walk into THAT dealer youll get them down. I had the salesman coming in on his day off until the GM realized what he was doing and told them they wanted 5k more on that one...

there are ways to play the game and I might not be the best at it but I also wont let someone take my money for nothing... I didn't get where I am being a fool

I'm sorry if you personally disagree but I have my right to opinions too like any other members here

That's a good question! As I mentioned, I refuse to pay MSRP... period! Oh and obviously, I'm in no rush as I suspect this Pony has not saturated the market yet for the 2013. You never know, maybe 2014 has the bigger better deal too.

Your claims seems to contradict itself!?

That's the fun part about negotiating. I'd rather have them laugh at me than to be ass-rapped then laughs at me some more... Hey at least I still have that $60K to shop some more right :)

Guys you know want to know what really works? Showing right from the beginning that you are willing to walk out the door.

I went through all of this when I was going for my GT500 back in 08 - markups were still in the 10-30k range. My local dealer had a 5k markup. I walked in the showroom, looked at the car, looked at the sticker price with 5k markup. After about 2 minutes of looking at the car told the salesman i'll pay sticker. Salesman responded, 'ok, let's get some paperwork going.'

He comes back with some numbers - still has that 5k markup in there. I told him i'm not interested in paying over sticker. He goes back to the GM and comes back with about a 4k markup. This all took about 5 minutes and I showed how impatient I was getting. I pulled out my cellphone and told him I have a 997 Carrera in Miami I will go buy instead if you don't give me this car for sticker. I stood up and was ready to walk.. and hey what do you know the ADM disapeared before I walked out the door....smart move I bought thier Shelby right there.

And ended up getting a similar 911 for much less money 18 months later.

Be patient, they know this is an emotional purchase - a major dreamcar has that effect- they know it - be ready to walk you will get it for the right price.

I don't think anyone here disbelieved that MSRP or even a little better can be had. You just have to do some legwork. Ive found half a dozen MSRP or better deals in the last week, you just have to be willing to so legwork, walk if necessary, and possibly drive/fly to get your car. The good Agent here is suggesting that right now we should all start negotiating at invoice price, which at this point in the game is not realistic. I want one, I don't want to wait 6 months and for what I'm getting, I feel MSRP is an acceptable, not a great, deal.

Agent, what options do you want? You keep mentioning this $60k "in your pocket" but what options do you want. If U were buying a car with a $60k MSRP then you MIGHT
come close but with taxes etc prob not. For an MSRP of around 57k your pocket change may get you a car. Our great system is all about supy and demand. Right now there is little supply and more demand so invoice deals arent going to be had very easily or frequently at all. By all means though, keep searching. Meanwhile I'll be driving when my car arrives. That, to me, is worth the extra cash

Yeah one dealer here in Houston is sitting on a couple on their showroom floor because they're asking 20k over sticker for them. Another dealer on the other side of town is offering them for sticker. When I asked the sales manager at the markup dealership why the hell they wanted so much, he gave me this whole speech on how they're only making 2,000 cars for 2013, how they're dropping the horsepower for 2014, and how even though they are in the top 10 dealerships for Mustang sales in the US, they would only be getting 3 '13 GT500s total. I turned around and walked out.

And I totally agree that the law of supply and demand is what help dealership to dictate the sale price.

But to answer your question, I'm interested in the SVT PP/TP/Recaro seats. These options at retail price is tolerable than dropping extra mulah above MSRP. Yes., I've anticipated tax, DMV and license too. As mentioned, I'm not paying MSRP for the base '13 GT500. I'm in no rush as I'm still indecisive about what color to get (3 in mind)

According to edmunds.com MSRP $54,995 and Invoice $50,253

You don't own the car yet, because you're not a good negotiator- and are to lazy too do the leg work to get the car at less than MSRP. Yet you come here preaching...

Or maybe it's because you're just trolling to stir the pot?

When you secure/own the car, at the numbers you keep preaching people should be able to buy it for- then I thing you should be able to speak on the topic.

Otherwise- you just sound like a man with a paper asshole.

Edmunds is correct. But you shouldn't be looking at base price and go ahead an look at the order and pricing guide and figure out how much your car is equipped and quit quoting base prices. Your options bring the total to over $62k. You might be able to walk out for $60k cash but not for a while. Maybe not until the 2015 mustan comes out but there will be no Shelby for prob 2 years after the new style hits. Good luck

You never know, maybe 2014 has the bigger better deal too.

There is no better deal for waiting. Just because you wait longer, the car is worth less. Those who get them early for a "decent" deal reduce the total loan amount earlier based on the model year being +1. It will all equal out in the end.

Isn't this just theory until you personally walk into a dealership and attempt your negotiating strategy? Those with cars in their driveways know what the market will bear and it appears to be, at best, currently, about $1000 under MSRP, unless you have a personal connection to get a sweetheart deal.
