So when is this mother****er officially supposed to be out? I see Ford's website and facebook page as showing late 2012. I figure with all the rags getting their hands on one means we would see dealer orders showing up soon?

You can order them now. First deliveries are not expected before Sept.

no one wheel peel,. there will be a limited slip diff BUT that doesnt alleviate torque steer. i know from expereince in my TL-S and sprayed 06 Si. both had limited slips and were still a bear to keep the wheel straight. they had unequal lenth axles though. not sure if the focus will but most fwd do.

There is a test drive vid out on youtube talking about how the car and some system elliviate and minimize torque steer.

Don't expect to get 40mph unless you hyperdrive. I average 28-30 on the highway in my Focus Titanium but I drive peddle to the metal most of the time. I like to go fast esp. with highway speed limits in the 75-80mph range now. I usually average about 85 on a freeway trip. 28-30 at 85 with the AC running is fine by me.

With a turbo and the eco-boost engine you could realistically expect 35 easy I would think. I may actually look at selling my 2012 focus and picking up one of these.

I am averaging 28 combined but I rarely do less than 85/90 on the highway. conservative driving will net you around 30-31 combines.

Your mpg really surprises me. I was under the impression that the newer focus models were supposed to get better gas mileage. My 09 ses hasnt averaged below 35mpg combined all hand calculated. Most of the time its around 38mpg and long highway trips 40 give or take a bit. And I beat the piss out of it, but it is a 5sp manual. Not rubbing in numbers, im honestly surprised.

the manual automatic is rated at 28/38 with an expected average of 33. There is a LOT of anecdotal evidence that 40+ is easily obtained with conservative driving and/or hyperdriving. I don't drive conservatively .. EVER. I have no idea what the true manual transmissions are getting.

Understood. I guess the only thing I really do that helps my gas milage is just not having tons of extra weight in my car. Through college, I always had tons of books, paper, surveying equipment, my golf clubs. Its like I could feel every extra pound and how it slowed me down, and I hate going slower than it already is. Not saying its a slow car for 145hp, but its a slow car in general haha.

Im seriously considering trading in my 09 ses on an ST . Its paid off and still worth around 8k for trade in, so I dont feel like I would be getting a bad deal. Ill just have to get out of my tiny area to find one and a dealership willing to work with me at msrp price. Ive already talked to the ford stealership locally and they are only getting 1 in, i cant wait to see their markup. Im thinking it will be marked up around 35-38k haha

The guys at the two dealers I have talked to say wait till they start showing up and then go in and order one. They are charging abou 2 grand adm. That may have changed since the last time I was there tho.

Makes sense... just to put into perspective on how the local ford dealership is: They recieved 1 LS BOSS and they put a dealer markup on it for a whopping total of 71k. I wish I got a picture of it just to show the ridiculous prices they ask for cars. From what I gathered, they still got something in the mid 50s for it. Some people  haha

I see the production variant has a set of twin stacked fogs per side. I got on Ford's website something like 2-3 days ago and the ST was still showed off in pre-production single fog lamp per side trim. The build page was still pre production as well and showed up as coming in later this year. Today I got on and saw the twin stack lamps as well as the ST listed on the regular Focus build page instead of the special ST page they had up a few days ago. I wonder what regulation might have caused this? It looks pretty shitty, IMO.

Maybe its just a glitch, a layer that didnt get turned off or hidden type thing. Reason I say that is because no where else on the site where you choose the ST do they show the double stacked lights. At least its what im hoping for. Its weird its come up in 1 day, it wasnt like that yesterday.

I talked to a dealer in VA and they are giving me quotes for a Focus ST with the 202A package with sunroof for $28,995 This price does not include taxes, tags and fees. With the X Plan they gave me the quote of 28,295.23 only 699.77 off. I'm sure you can try and get more out of them.
