Completely utterly awesome.. I am so pissed I didn't do this earlier. Feels like a whole new car, the ass end feels so secure and planted now.

Bruce was super easy to deal with and rushed me my bushings next day when I needed them. Over all FAN FREAKING TASTIC.

Beg, borrow, steal the money to do this to your Cobra. Worth every penny and then some!

What parts did you exactly buy? Are you running Coil overs and what spring are you running with the kit? Did you have the car bump steered and what alignment specs did you use? would like to know the details, Thanks

I've had three friends put Bruce's bushings in their cars with the same outcome. Better handling and more confidence. I can't wait to do it to mine...just waiting on a couple track days to get the feel of her stock, then the kit will be ordered.

I got the FT5000 kit..

Aluminum Front diff supports with Aluminum shimming washers to set pinion angle, Delrin Rear Diff support, UHMW IRS Subframe support set, Delrin Upper control arm bushings and Hardcoated inner sleeves, Delrin Lower control arm bushings and Hardcoated inner sleeves with shimming washers, Combination UCA and LCA bushing grease fitting kit. One pair of Grade 8, 9/16" bolts with nylock nuts and flat washers for the front subframe mounts.

No coilovers, Stock shocks with Steeda springs, I didn't do the bumpsteer kit, as I was already waaay over budget on what I was originally planning to do.. I was also doing Long Tubes, Clutch, input shaft, retainer, and pilot bearing, as well as the FRPP diff cover, and meth and killer chiller were on the same order too..

For alignment they tried to get it as close to factory specs as possible, but I'm not sure where it wound up.

FTBR is the best kit...from even just a sheer price point comparison and for the added grease fittings...and I don't even have the kit.

How hard was the install? And about how long did it take?!

Its more time consuming than hard. Its a good solid 6 hours with breaks, and consuming of beer. If you have all the right tools, jacks/jackstands...etc a friend to help you its much easier. The hardest part is pressing all the bearings out/new ones in. Make sure you get the tool available from FTBR.

Like the above comments, its hands down the best money I've ever spent on ANY mod on my old 03 Cobra.

That's awesome to hear! I'm picking my car up in just a few hours and I had the same kit(FT5000 + FR diff cover) installed. I'm so excited!

:uh oh: Can I hire you just to do these kits?

6hrs for a complete FTBR kit, with breaks and drinking beer? Is that from pulling a car into the garage, doing the kit and then pulling it out? If so, I have absolutely no clue how you can do it in 6hrs even with help. I have done 8 of these kits just this yr and have more waiting to go in. The fastest I have been able to do it is 2 VERY long days and I have a drill press, friends and other tools to help make the job easier. But that is from complete start to finish.

Now, if the IRS is already out, 6-8hrs to remove every bushing and install all the new bushings I can see. Not including resealing the diff if it needs to be done, which is in my 2 days mentioned above.

Yeah the shop charged me 10 hours for the install, because that's what they quoted me.. I asked if they were sure they could do it in ten... Noooo problem :).. They know for next time..

I have a suspension guy that thinks he can do the ft 5000 kit and the new ford racing diff cover in an 8 hr day along with a couple other things from me dropping it off in the morning.. I guess he is in for a surprise!! Haha Should be happening sometime in the next week or so if I have the coin. I'll let you guys know how it goes and my impressions of the whole set up.

As requested, I picked up my car and drove it three hours home from the Twin Cities. The rear end just feels so planted now. It's like it has a purpose now. Before, you could feel "sponginess" of the rubber bushings and the lack of feel. Now you have a feeling for what it's doing and can tell that when it hits a bump, mid corner, It hits it and is planted down right after keeping the rear from bouncing. Although I can't go WOT because I'm breaking in my clutch, I can still feel a difference in normal driving in the city and on the highway. I could hold a better line on highway on-ramps because the rear would just be glued down.
It's not rough by any means and I think the NHV barely went up. All in all, It's how Ford should have done it from the factory. I would urge anyone thinking of a SRA swap to try this first. Yes it's a little expensive/time consuming, but the IRS is a unique part on our cars and should not be tossed so easily to "fix" the problem with a SRA swap...

Also I should add that the shop time for my install of the bushings and the FR diff cover was 8hrs. FWIW.

Hands down the best mod I've done to my car. I ended up bending/breaking the removal tool, but got everything finished up in about 2 days.
