^^^^its not going to fix the issue but rather circumvent the problem...their is zero chance of a 1-2 shift grind when the wotbox is active....if you are doing part throttle aggressive shifting where the wotbox doesnt activate then yea u will still grind 1-2 shift....i think inread somewhere about setting it up for part throttle activation so you dont have to be at wot but for me i drive normally on the street and use the wotbox for slamming gears at the track....so yes u are correct it doesnt fix it but it manouvers its way around the problem...it has been the best $199 i spent on the car to date!

Update. I was contacted by my Ford Rep and said that the FSE has already looked at the car before and deems no issue. This is round 3 with Ford and the dealer. The 1-2 syncro where replaced and still grinds! I have shown the issue to the Service advisor and technician at the dealer and both are able to re-create the issue as well. Took it back to the dealer and Ford basically told me to go pound sand.

I switched to a MGW shifter before I took my car to the diggs. No real problem. I missed a few 1 - 2 shifts, but that was me, not the transmission/shifter. On the street, no issues with 1 - 2 shifts with the MGW.

Get the MGW. Your shift problems will disappear.

Shifted my 08 0ver 6k for the first time ever between 1-2 due to forgeting to reset my limiter after retuning and grinddddd....... now no speed shifting at all. Talked to many, and the ratio is too wide to speed shift at high rpm. Even with all the upgrades, the only thing that will allow you to shift fast at high rpm is the viper/tr6060 1st gear conversion. Otherwise take the time to shift or shift lower. The conversion can be done by Joe Dederich Motorsports or D&D. (Factory kr shifter and 600hp)

Here is what the latest fix that some dealers are preforming to fix the grind issue. Maduce from FordGT500.com had this fixed applied and cured his issue. The fix includes a '13 clutch and shifter assembly. I have an appointment at the same dealer to have my car fixed. Pass this info along to your dealer and you might get them to preform this fix. It took me three different dealers to finally get one to hopefully fix the issue. Still no official TSB fro Ford.

In the above pic........the part that says....."per forthcoming TSB" is actually promising.

Yes hopefully there will be an offical TSB coming out  but considering how long this issue has been going on for who knows if they will actually release an offical TSB.

The weird thing is, I went out and tried some more fast 1-2 shifting and my car was perfect every time. I think its got a mind of its own. A month ago I could not shift 1-2 fast at all. WTF???

I still say to you guys having issues that it is indeed the shift handle. On TeamShelby, and in a thread on the 13 in this forum, a member posted about this same issue. I had read it a while back, and while I had only had it happened to me once, I followed what he spoke of. When I did the *fix* I had no more issues.

Now that really will only work if you have not yet *damaged* the syncro's and such, but it does indeed work if its not gone that far. You also can buy another shifter all together, but indeed check into the handle. It truly does make a HUGE difference when you change it out.

"According to Tremec the 1-2 shift gear clash issue is probably not caused by a single issue. On early 2010 and prior cars the syncros used brass rings, later models used carbon fiber, this did improve the problem. The remote mount shifter also contributes, an improved shifter (Shelby, Hurst etc.) does help. The rate of clutch release also contributes to the problem. He said that Tremec laid blame on the clutch and the clutch manufacture laid blame on the transmission. He has had customers replace all 3 to cure the issue." form fordgt500 forum...

I believe this is the solution to the grind is to have the shifter, clutch and syncro's replaced to fix the issue. Here is the repair list that finally I believe has fixed the issue:
7r3z 7a082 a kit trans control selector
ar3z 7124aa syncro assy 1-2
ar3z 7107a ring syncro
1r3z 7052aa seal asy oil
7r3z 7052a seal asy oil
ar3z 7b096a Pin roll
ar3z 7102ab gear main shaft 2nd speed
cr3z 7400a control asy -gear shift
cr3z 7b546a clutch asy

Basically new syncro, shifter and clutch from the 2013 GT500. Although I have seen some comments that the '13 grinds still so a new aftermarket shifter or handle would likely fix altogether.

Just curious....

What amount of cash to fork over for the parts list to fix the problem?

Mine does the same exact thing as well. Only on occasions tho. It was my syco that went out. My reverse syco also went out went the grinding started. So mine was a shit ton since they had to tear it apart. I just had my clutch put in new since they already had it all opened up.

Ninjak,

Trying to play catch up here. So for those members having the problem, what all "FIXED" your situation?

Wow, no one out there with the grind installed a MGW shifter? Hmm.

A lot of people with very good feed back on this shifter and quite a few waiting on the latest shifter from mgw. Myself? I just put in the magnum t56 and I should be done with all of that jazz! but if I didn't have the funds I would have started with the solid shifter bushings and hi durometer rear rubber mount from Revan racing.
