I am not surprised. Do they honestly think that this will stop criminals from getting these types of guns?
Adam Lanza wouldn't have had one in the car if his mother didn't have one at home. Furthermore, there is no reason a civilian needs an assault rifle. Period.

I'm so sick of these idiots talking about "assault rifles" as if they know anything about guns.
Maybe Adams mother shouldn't have had the weapons readily available to him. she supposedly taught him how to shoot also. Maybe that wasn't such a great idea being the fact he isn't mentally stable. I don't see why a civilian shouldn't be able to own an " assault rifle". If people who own them were a little more responsible things would be a little bit better. Take all the guns away and the criminals will still find them, or move onto another weapon to use. Whats stopping someone from going off the edge with a chain saw, or machete which you can walk right into a lowes or home depot and pull right off the shelf.
There's no need for fast cars, alcohol, TV, etc. Retard. It's not about need, it's about rights.

We dont " NEED" them, we want them because they are part of the hobby of shooting. Its unfortunate that assholes use them in these coward attacks on innocent people. I own and AR15 because i enjoy going to the range and shooting it. I dont think people need fully automatic weapons, but there is nothing wrong with exercising our 2nd amendment right. Lets blame the superchargers or nitrous on cars that street race and people die.
Please find the nearest body of water, dive in, swim to the bottom, and breath deeply.
When you die in a street race, it's an accident. What Adam did was no accident. Nobody wakes up, steals their mothers car and goes out to kill 20 children and 6 adults then gets out of the car and let's it run them over to commit suicide.

Ever thought that maybe these crooks in office are just nervous of an uprising and the general public being armed and able to do something about it? Makes sense to me.
Since when do you have to have a "need" to want something? You do not "need" a 412hp pony car but you still want it correct? People (including myself) that have an "assault weapon" may just like taking them to gun ranges and/or open property to shoot them. There are many illegal activities you can do with your Mustang outside of a dragstrip or roadcourse, just like there are many illegal things I can do with weapons outside of a gun range or open property.
To make an analogy easily understood by people on this board, in order to curb deaths caused by street racing I think there should be a bill introduced to ban specific types of:
-Sports cars
-Muscle cars
-Muscle trucks
-Sports bikes
Also all owners of the above vehicles that are grandfathered will need to be subjected to background checks as well as any transferee.

Pretty sure most races are actually set up and not by accident. Yeah il agree that nobody intends on killing anyone while doing it, but still thats like banning pools or swimming because people drown. More people die every year from motor vehicle accidents, then by guns. Figure that out, maybe we should all get rid of our vehicles and walk.
Perhaps you should educate yourself a bit before you make mention of "assault rifles" in the hands of civilians there chief.
