Race and find out...

Do it at the track BTW.

Kids at school….
Thats not gonna happen….

O.P Camaro has the edge on power but with your 4.10 gears, you should get him. Close race but I see you having the edge if you have the right launch. X-pipe wont get you as much power as you think, probably 15 bhp or so but anything helps.

With your gearing, and both getting a perfect launch, you should take him off the line. However, he will eventually come around you if the race goes for any distance.

You will get him off the line if you can launch. 4.10s do wonders for 4v's. He will most likely be playing catchup if anything as your gearing is better. Honestly, the mid pipe wont add much but throw it on and get a tune then run him. 1/4 mile I say you by a car, but any more and he may even up or gain on you. Just my guess. Is he auto or manual?

If you can drive then you'll get him. I beat a T/A with a lid when I only had a cat back and mid pipe. The key with our cars is to take them to 7,000rpm and shift fast

Yeah, 4.10s in those cars really wake them up. I had them in my old 99 Cobra. I also raced my buddys 99 Camaro SS 6 sp in the 1000' and beat it by a couple tenths. It'll be a drivers race but the gears greatly even it out.

I had a 2002 SS with the 6 speed, but I didn't leave it stock for very long. :) If it's a manual, it probably has 3.42 gears in it. Not very hard to launch. He should dyno stock around 285 or so. What he needs is a set of longtubes, 3.73s or 4.11s, a nice little cam and a decent tune.

I hate bench racing though. Take it to a track and make a few passes and find out.

Dude, you got him. Even if it is the LS1. It was drivers race against my buddy's Bullitt and a 6MT trans Am with a lid and cat back.. Until the T/A ditched the cats- now it walks alittle. I burned the Bullitt before my 4.10s by the way, so you'd be in the same boat. Adding 4.10s to the mix- he's toast. I've seen an off road mid pipe net about 10 hp with a tune. Maybe toss in a k&n filter too.
Remove the spare tire, make sure you're not full on fuel.

hahahaha you dont think there good tires whats wrong with them? i dont want drag radials because they suck around turns and im not drag racing all the time but seriously what do you think it wrong with the ones i got on it now?

Oh you are one of them corner carver guys. :dw: :bored: I'm officially out of this, not my cup of tea. That confuses racing too much for me.

< runs drag radials 24/7
