I was looking into buying an ST model to replace my dd, but I couldn't find any info on the turbo in particular. Such as make, size, stock boost#'s. Not that it matters as I'm pretty well sold on the car already. Just curious though if anyone had some info.

On another note, how easy would it be to turn up the boost some. And how much is safe on a stock motor.

I know it's early, but surely someone has played around with it.

Interested in this also. I know COBB has some kits they are working on to up the power, but I don't know if they ramp up boost or not. I think they just play with fuel/timing and remove restrictions in the intake/exhaust to achieve gains.

I believe the stock boost is around 25lbs with the overboost active, but I'm not sure on that. No idea as to make or size, but I've heard it's small.

Wow 25lbs thats way more than I was thinking. I figured it would be something ultra safe like 6 to 8lbs.

doesn't the boost gauge go to 1.2 bar? So that'd be around 17 psi.

edit - saw another boost gauge that goes up to 25psi and a few forums talking about being "over 20psi". Found one guy that says 19 psi stock

I have a 2013 ST. The boost gauge max is at 30psi. The factory turbo is a Borg Warner KO3 which is essentially the same turbo that comes on the VAG 2.0T's in the GTI, A3, A4 etc...etc...with obvious differences in fitment/orientation for a given platform.

...also, the stock peak boost level actually produced is right at 20psi that I have actually observed. I now have Unleashed Tuning's 93 octane tune via the SCT Programmer on the car, which produces up to 23psi at peak. The 30psi max reading on the guage is much akin to a 200mph speedo...it ain't gonna happen! 30psi is well beyond what the little KO3 can produce efficiently in terms of airflow. That being said, I absolutely love the car! It's a joy to drive, handles really well, and accelerates well enough to get you in plenty trouble, plenty quick!

Thanks for the info SLVRNBLK... dunno why this has to be so hard to find online.

I suppose op is running after market boost gauge... factory is 25 psi. I would geuss it is reasonably accurate. Mine goes a little above the line below 25 (18.75 if it is accurate) so I would guess maybe 20-21lbs. My boost did not realy change with or without tune but runs a hell of a lot better. Fords factory pwer rating is based on 21lbs on 93. sorry still a little short spec wise

I stand corrected. My bad. Not sure what I was thinking, my car was sitting in the garage, and I just glanced in to verify. I must have caught the "30" of "300" on the oil temp gauge...Sorry, 25 psi is indeed the max on the factory guage as the pic indicates. Guess I'm getting delirious in my old age...

Makes two of us lol, after you posted I had to look at it again. All good. Either way I think Ford did a pretty good job on this one... Heck it makes more hp/liter than The almighty GT500! (still want a GT500 though, only if I had some extra $)
