Who has install the oil pump gears on 5.0? What I'm looking for is preview of the timing marks.

Also do you have to completely remove the timing chain or just the tensioner and chain on the side of the tensioner?

The hardest part looks to be removing the damper.

It was pretty simple after i got it done not sure what you mean by preview of the timing marks but both chain tensioner and the guides need to be removed and there is a trick to get the tensioner back in and removing the crank pulley is cake just need the right tool

If anyone had a picture of the timing marks that would help before I dug in to the motor. What is the trick to get the tensioner back on? Put all the slack on that side?

I was hoping I would be able to remove the chain from the crank sproket by removing the tensioner and tensioner side chain guide.

Timing marks on mine didnt even line up i just made a few of my own and no the tensioner you have to push the plunger in, use a pick to release the ratchet arm and push it back to hold the plunger then use a small allen key or pin to hold it in place
