I Have my car getting dynoed tommorow and wondering about how much timing this combo should be able to take with 93 and torco 32oz per 10 gallon mix. heres my most of the engine mods i can think of.

whipple 2.3 gen 1
sd #60s
lethal non return fuel kit w/ twin gt-40 pumps, mod fdpm ,pprv delete.
4lb lower and 3.25 upper should be around 19lbs
even flow cooling mod
sct 3000
jlt 9 inch carbon fiber rai
lfp tb
arh 1 3/4 lt and catless x pipe. borla stingers
fluidyne h/e
Hoping to get in about 21 degrees and mid 11s a/f. I dont mind getting agressive with the tune as its a project car not my dd trying to get everything out of it.

Looking to see what others are able to get in with timing degrees with 93 + torco
@ # pounds of boost.

torco and 93 octane

Just got tuned TVS 2.3 with 2.6 upper pulley only, 2004 cobra.32 oz torco to 10 gal 93,18 degree timing,20 lbs boost.Made right at 650 RWHP,607 RWTQ.

It seems like your timing, tq and hp is a little low. The octane with 32 of torco should be around 104.

I was at 592hp/598 tq at 17psi, 17 degrees on 91 octane. You should be able to bump your timing a few more degrees. On my car 1* equals 9hp and 11tq. If you went 3* you should be at 675hp/ 640tq which is more inline with the boost and timing you have. I really think you need at least 5 more degrees on timing.

Great info on both posts. Mine is on the dyno after doing some mods. before mods were done it was tested on same dyno and was @ 22 degrees timing and made 614hp corrected 550 something tq with a 2.9 upper 18/19 lbs stock lower. now the mods have been done. from stock manifolds Added arh 1 3/4 long tubes and x pipe, went from oem to single blade lfp tb with inlet change. and 4 lb lower with 3.25 upper which should make about 1.2 more pounds on paper and end up around the same with the header install i figured. tuner pulled a lot of timing out and richened it and slowly worked it back to 19 degrees and it picked up 40 lbs torqe to a little over 600tq and 635hp. kinda bummed out with the hp. I was hoping it would nicly break 650. Hes gonna do another pull or 2 with a little more timing maybe a little leaner not sure. Seems like a huge waste of money for the slightest gain. almost 5 k inc parts/labor for 20hp kicks self in ass.

93 and torco

Had car tuned more on conserative side. Why risk more timing and take a chance of blowing motor.More than enough power for the street.32oz and 10 gallons of 93 octane will not make 104 octane. Closer t0 98-100 octane.several threads on mixture. with 93 octane.

you are right good call.bought it with the previous tune and was told it had 17 or 18 degrees by the owner. i think the owner didnt know either that it had that much timing. it had been back and forth to 2 different tuners so i figure there was a little whos better dyno sheet battle between them. when it just was put on the dyno and told it already had that much timing i figured there wasnt gonna be any big hp to find.

You're looking at 98 octane if you mix a 32 ounce can with 10 gallons. When I raced my Terminator, I ran with a 1/4 tank, thus 5 gallons of 93 with one can of Torco which came out to 101 octane. Obviously, their stated octane numbers are not accurate.

With my Eaton setup, I ran 24 degrees of advance the vast majority of the time when using Torco at the track. Oone time at the track I bumped it up to 25 degrees for a couple of runs but got no increase in 1/4 mile MPH.

With a Whipple at 19 lbs of boost and 98 octane, I don't think I would go above 21 degrees. Get that mixture ratio up to 101 octane and 22 degrees for dyno and track duty. Just my opinion.

Torco "Accelerator" Octane Mixtures
5gal of 93 with 32 oz of torco = 101
5gal of 93 with 64 oz of torco = 101+?

8gal of 93 with 32 oz of torco = 99
8gal of 93 with 64 oz of torco = 101+?

10gal of 93 with 32 oz of torco = 98
10gal of 93 with 64 oz of torco = 101

15gal of 93 with 32 oz of torco = 96
15gal of 93 with 64 oz of torco = 99

thanks irontemp. That is right about what i was thinking. another degree or so into it up to maybe 20.5 i did leave a extra half can of torco we will throw in also and its on the rich side around 11.2 and can be leaned slightly i think and still be pretty safe. it was around 11.7 with the last tune. should get close to 650 with a couple pulls i would think. ill post the results. Thinking I should have went with a 3.10 upper and could have had 650+ no problem without getting agressive at all. Not much left for this 2.3 combo with the fuel system and #60s. Just maybe a 3.10 pulley and that big 12 inch jlt intake would probably pick it up some.

All finished dynoing. It made 644whp/607tq corrected and 665hp uncorrected in this good air. That is with a little less timing than it had before and a little richer. its @19 lbs. Pretty descent #s for the combo i think.

Very stout numbers @ 19#.

How much timing on your final numbers? I'm getting tuned tomorrow with a 2.6KB with 16oz of Torco to 10 gallons of gas. I'll be interested to see how much timing we end up with...
