Just got my car back from getting some work done inc install of 4lb lower pulley aand a 3.25 upper and 3.20 alt pulley. The shop removed the upper idler pulley. Told me it not used with a lower kit?. New to these cars. is that correct.

That is what I was thinking. It had the billetflow idlers. they took off the top one next to the blower.

I have no friggen clue exept they thought with the larger 3.25 upper it wouldnt get any slip so it didnt need the idler:shrug:.

dan and pete at performance dyno that did the work. they have done 100s of these cars. It is the large billitflow pulley that is right next to the supercharger pulley. Is this ok to run like this if it isnt having belt slip or should i reinstall the pulley and go get a new correct sized belt.

I was just looking at the snub idler on lethals site it does mention for use with 3.10 upper pulley and smaller. I now have a 3.25 maybe thats the deal why they removed it. Anybody?

Install the upper and go get correct belt.
After checking around I think the billitflow snub idler wont work with a pulley as large as my 3.25 upper. The upper pulley will touch/rub the idler. Thats what it looks like by searching some old posts and probably why they couldnt use it.

Im not sure just got the car back today. I just and figured out why they didnt put it back on.read about flipping them around and using the smaller one for the snub idler. Ill have give it a try but looking at old posts they seem to have trouble with even a 3.10 and flipping them around. Guess the snub idler is more for real small pulleys. I may just see if theres any belt slip and if not leave it the way it is. They dynoed it and it made 607tq so it must not be slipping. Wont be able to take it out for a while with a nasty noreaster hitting tommorow.

I guess the question is. Is anybody running a snub idler with a 3.25 or larger upper pulley even if flipping the smaller 90mm pulley over to the snub idler.

With the 3.25 upper it is unlikely you will get belt slip as long as you have the correct belt size.
A 90mm aux idler pulley will fit with my 3.2" pulley on the VMP TVS 2.3 and it should fit yours.

You said the shop has "done 100s of these cars" and you trusted them to do the work on your car. Why not trust their advice on the idler? If you begin to have belt slip later on you know what to do.

Thanks for the info and pics. I was just thinking that that idler is pretty much a must have and wanted to double check. Better to check with people to make sure than possibly throwing a belt or something + Im paraniod :dw:.
