I've ben using Zaino for about three years now and like it quit abit but I always wonder about other product but Im to cheap to buy a lot of other product just to try. I did break down the other day and bought a 4oz trial size of Poor Boy's Black Hole to give it a shot. After I ordered it and reread the discription I realized its pretty much the same a Zaino's Z-5.

My question is has anyone used or know of anyone who used both Zaino Z-5 and Poor Boy's Black Hole and what are your/their thoughs?

Same question regarding Z-2 and Diamond White.

Vehicles are the black Cobra needing normal TLC for a garage queen and two white vehicle.

Thanks!!

I love Zaino stuff. poor boys, and adams, and some of meguiars. not the normal line sold in store though. It's all about the same IMO. It all depends on how much time you spend and how close you look at things. I like adams polishing system but it is 3-4 steps and takes a lot lot longer than m105 and m205 IMO. It's all preference.

They are not really comparable products.

PoorBoy's Black Hole is a glaze. It has mild cleaners and fillers. No protective qualities. It is ment to be followed by a wax or sealant.

Zaino Z-5 is basically a sealant, with some added fillers to hide swirls and minor imperfections.

I Never use a sealant unless I have just done a full PC. To me Glaze is useless. If your paint is perfect. take all your wax etc off. sealant, the 2-3 light coats of wax. Shine is all about PC. If a glaze helps your car a lot, You need to do a PC. Glaze was made to fill in small defects on show cars while tranporting from show to show. That being said these cars did not need much protection (many did not use sealant. only wax) Just my opinion.

Interesting.

My paint is nowhere near perfect. The issue I do have is micro marring and I think its from my PC. I'm not sure what I did wrong so I was trying do a fuller by hand and mask it for the time being until I get my PC technique down.

Suggestions?

I have been a Zaino fan since they opened shop and its still one of the best products on blk paint. The Z-5 does a great job after a wash filling all those impefection and swirl marks.
I tried the Meguires Spray wax its in a black bottle with a blk Mercedes on it its Fabulous. I use it on both my vehicals and on my blk Escalade it works as good as the Zaino. The only problem I have with it sometimes is that it smears. It may be my microfiber towels holding residue. I don't like to use to much soap when washing the towels because it beats them up.

You should probably say what products you used with your PC, and maybe one of the pro's can pinpoint where you went wrong and how to correct it.

IMO if you have already invested in the PC, you can fix the issues rather than use glaze to fill it in...

I have used the black hole on my Mustang LX. I am not a very big fan of PoorBoys. Its okay but to me there is better stuff on the market in my opinion. The Black Hole to me just masks problems. IF I was you and you can save the paint I would do a correction instead.

I was using Pinnacle XMT Fine Swirl Remover and Carnauba Finishing Glaze with the PC.

I will def reuse the PC but I was looking for a quick fix until I get some time to actually correct it.

IMO if you've been very happy with Zaino products, stick with them. When I had my '03 Cobra I tried a few different products before settling with Zaino. The Z-5 worked GREAT. I've yet to use a Zaino product that I didn't find to be superior or at least equal to anything else out there. I still use their products. My DSG paint literally sparkled in sunlight. I had no reason to try anything else at that point. I just couldn't see any other product making me (or my Cobra) any happier. The stuff just works! JMO.
