Great thread!! Brian is the man.

I just bought a stieg stage 3 ported blower from a friend. I was wondering if I could go ahead sand the inlet down (800, 1000, 2000) to make it perfectly smooth? I am not sure if I would be hurting the port job done by stieg by doing this.

No, you will not hurt anything by doing so. Since the inlet isn't alot of surface area I doubt very seriously you will see any gains by doing that.
Post pictures of what the inlet looks like now. I bet we can guide you on opening it up little more if you want to see gains.

I don't want to mess it up. This is stieggy stage 3 ported blower.

Here is the inlet. It looks a bit rigid, and I wanted to make it smooth as glass for a hope of a little better flow.

Its funny to see Steig doing the lead in's now. When Brian and I were talking one day I came up with this and sent this pic to him asking if he thought this would help.
finishedraceport013.jpg

I don't know how many years ago I sent that.

You wont hurt it if you opened it up more. You can see where the floor can be lowered. Port match it with the gasket but not only in the opening but all the way.

Here was mine before polishing the inside

I lowered the lead in's to the middle of the bearing, not shown in this pic

Guys, once again, I have a stage 3 port from steggy and wondering if I could do anything to do the inlet to increase the performance even one bit before putting this on my car. Because once she is on the car, I wont bother to do anything else to it.

I will be upper only.

I'll be giving this a shot myself in the next few weeks. Just read through 26 pages haha. Want to see if I have the general idea down correctly:
-open up throttle body openings at the bulk of material in the center
-cut/grind the knub off
-sand/smooth everything
-Port plenum first and open it up as much as I can
-Cut gasket to match and then use gasket to mark blower inlet. Slightly bigger is better than slightly smaller
-cut down egr hump
-cut down the "floor"
-do some cutting on the roof before rotors
-take down the lead ins on both sides(can go about halfway down the bearings)
-***can do some work on the arch before the rotors I think? This is one I'm still not quite sure on.***
-add a secondary hole up by the "c" on the outlet and take it down to about the second "line"
- reshape/open up the original outlet (in my case going to copy posi race design)

Does this sound about right guys?

I really like how posi (Brian) did he's ports and how they perform so that's what I try to do with my port.

My brother started his port, I decided to help him out a bit and fix it for him. He broke through in the TB, so I added a little JB weld filled it in and smoothed it out. I need to do a lot more in the inlet side of the blower. I polished the TB pretty good. Hopefully it will add some power for him.

Let me know what you think.

Just picked up my first Terminator. Car currently has a Gen2 JLT, 2.76upper, Xcal4, Bassani O/R X, Borla stingers and 3.73's recent dyno day it made 470rwhp/483rwtq with the blower and intake Iced down for 1 1/2 hrs in 95+ degree heat. The blower is suppose to be unported and makes 13psi now. I will be looking to add BAP, 60lbs injectors, BA3000 maf and looking to port it myself. My question is, would a aftermarket TB and Plenum help much or would porting the stocker be more costeffecient? What TB and plenum?

Everyone I turned my website back on so you all can have pictures of the port. I don't have pictures of the throttle bodies but there's some good pictures in this thread on how to port those with some good porting on them as well.

Now you have the information again to do a great Home Port if you spend your time.

Working on the eaton thats going on my 01, still have to smooth them out but most of the cutting is done. Going 9.5:1 compression with long tubes and a 2.93/4 maybe 6 combo.

I know this thread is old but maybe posi respond. Is there any benefit to leading in air between the two bearing. I been searching around the net for more pics of posi's port jobs but haven't found the info I need
