I work for a stealership........BMWs are nightmares when it comes to quality. Fit and finish is good yes, but they break alot and are stupid expensive to fix.

So is it really better quality in the end? I say..not so much. There is nothing I can't replace or upgrade on my Mustangs on my own.. and I can afford it..that's what I love about them

Hahaha...sad world u live in, I am glad I only visited . A z06 has leather seats so I guess its a luxury car also :nonono:

Well, it was good enough to be compared to a Z06 since the real world (the one I live in) realizes that money is a relevant key factor. Money means nothing to you, but its a key factor for the rest of us poor Mustang guys :bowdown:

I wouldn't say that..it's a well engineered monster tuned by retired Nazi SS officers who know their shiz. I just think they over-play the quality card. I know you're on his side since your Charger is basically a Benz :banana:

:shrug::lol1:

This statement gets played too much, you do know that a mechanic working at any car dealer can say this about the brand dealer they work at right? No car is perfect but a bias mechanic i'd never listen too because they will exaggerate problems with cars to make their argument.

Wow xsellr8 you are still going on... I so far cleaned my 5.0, watched superman and epic (wife wanted to see it but ended up falling asleep) bought a few new shirts, took the dog to a dog park, ate amazing mexican food, made french toast, cleaned the house, swam in the pool, and scared a family in the parking lot by throwing a shooping cart on the floor because it almost hit my car.

Haha. I love how people that have never owned BMW's talk about how much of a nightmare they are. Btw the word some of you are looking for, its called preference. If you can't afford the thousands of dollars of costly repairs, then yes it can be a nightmare. If you can, it's literally hard to find much out there that's much better. But then again BMW's are my preference. It took me 7 years because of stories like these to buy my BMW. 7 years of people scrutinizing, bashing, complaining, and since I finally pulled the trigger; I wish I never waited that 7 years.

Hey bud, I'm lucky I can reach all the keys while strapped into this straight jacket. You try being locked up in a small room all day. Plus, its pretty time consuming to correct all your false facts :rolling:
Not to mention the main contender of this thread didn't even know the HP,TQ, or curb weight of the cars he was comparing...

I don't have to buy a space shuttle just to have the right to say its expensive to operate and requires a lot of maintenance..one day you might go to college and learn about a principle known as total cost of ownership. It took 7 years for you to buy and it'll take far less than that to realize it was an expensive decision. Whether its worth it or not, that's up to you.

lol that knowledge is not from me just talking to my techs in service. Thats from first hand experience. I see these cars come and go and had a 3 series in the family. Consumer reports and other third parties rates BMWs overall reliability pretty low. Every BMW we take on trade always has issues that we have to fix before we can sell it.

Except that I have owned one and yes they are a nightmare in reliability. Not all of them will break, but a high percentage do. Im glad you havent had any issues with yours, but I get alot of these cars on trade all the time as well. All the way from 1 series to 7 series, hard tops to convertibles. They are nice fancy cars, but you dont buy them for reliability.

I realize the BMW is different than a VW but I have to chime in and say that keeping my DD 1.8T Passat on the road without breaking every 6 months is a chore. Just recently got done with a water pump. $1200 parts/labor for that gem only to find out that the impeller is made of plastic. Just to get to the front of the motor involved removing the front fascia of the car. In addition, you need some specialized tools to work on the car also.

IMO, this Passat seems like an expensive car to work on. I could only imagine how much more the BMW would cost to own and maintain.

According xsellr8 if it has leather it is a luxury car so I guess that makes svt a luxury brand? And z06 is a luxury car. Ford GT has leather so I guess it is a luxury car as well
