I hate this. yes you can buy find a 03/04 cobra/mach with 50k or 29k in op case and its a $20,000+ cobra and $17k+ for a mach. i am sure somebody will say i bought a 20k miles cobra for $17k whatever dude its probably ragged. point being a cobra for $25k you can spend a few grand more and buy a used gt500 with more miles etc etc or a newer 5.0 etc etc its always something man.

i understand they made a ton of them but nobody will give anywhere near kbb or nada for that matter so please enlighten me why book values matter then since you seem like you know all????

There is a much bigger jump from a gt to cobra than cobra to gt500. You're comparing apples to oranges. Most people who are spending 13k are on a budget so to hear for a few more grand they can get a mach or cobra they will most likely try.

Someone who has 25k to spend on a cobra can probably afford a GT500 if they wanted to.

It doesnt matter really, all it takes is the right person to come buy this car.

Your car has what, like 60k miles on it? It isn't worth even 10k, sorry. It's an 02 vert. If it was a 40th anniversary edition..MAYBE 10k and that's pushing it. How good of condition a car is in makes a huge difference in selling price, but you're not going to get more than 9k for a 2002 GT with 60,000 miles on it. I've looked at thousands of these things and I can tell you right now your price is wayyyy high.

Not everybody wants a modded car, sure lots of people do, but there's plenty of people who want stock cars. You're just a lot less likely to find those people on a MUSTANG ENTHUSIAST FORUM whose purpose is to aid people in modifying their cars. List your car on autotrader or ebay.

Cobras are very overpriced too IMO. The difference though is that people are willing to pay the premiums to buy them. Competition orange is the most sought after color so of course the price will be high. Same with the SOM f-body camaros. It is what it is. There's only a certain amount of them and tons of people wanting one...again, supply and demand. Whereas, your car is a laser red mustang gt convertible. Laser red is one of the least sought after colors and most people want a coupe, not a convertible. You can be upset about that all you like, but it's the truth and the sooner you realize that the sooner you will sell your car.

My car has 50k miles on it and is pretty much mint. Maybe six rock chips maybe. Look at my for sale thread for auto trader link it looks as good as new actually probably better. And if my price is high find me a nicer one within 250 miles of my zip code 45011 that is nicer.

And it is a convertible which makes it less valuable yet it cost as much as a mach 1 a year and two years later?

I don't get though why red fire is highly sought after color is ugly when compared to laser red oh wait nobody cares about the actually car and color it's all about how much horsepower and how rare it is my bad

And find me one cleaner and look at photos of mine first before you make a reply

You're helpless, lol. You just don't get it. I am telling you right now, my GT was cleaner than yours(I would put money on it), was a more sought after color, and was a coupe. AND it was a 2004 which is what most people want. The condition your car is in will help with the sale, but it doesn't make your car worth an extra 3k....it just makes it easier to sell.

People don't want machs and cobras just because they're rare, they want them because they have a better engine, better interior, and better looks. It just so happens that they are rare. And because they are rare, and people want them, they are more expensive.

I'm telling you right now that you aren't going to sell your car for more than 10k...and that is if you are VERY lucky and find the right buyer. Your car is definitely clean, no doubt about it, but it's a red/tan vert with an AUTOMATIC. So right there you eliminated 99% of all mustang enthusiasts.

I've seen plenty of very clean cars with similar mileage go in the 8.5k range. I'm not going to waste my time looking for one because I'm looking for a supercharged car...but they are definitely out there.

Also, you continue to rip on machs and cobras saying the only reason people buy them is because of added horsepower.....so why does your autotrader ad say you're looking to upgrade to a mach or cobra?!?! hmmmmmm hypocrite much?

Have you found me a cleaner and cheaper one in my area? Um no

Apparently you didn't even read my reply and yes I want mach or cobra looking to upgrade but I'm not going to pay $30k for one. I would love to see a 50k mileage car cleaner then mine for $8500 oh wait you haven't showed me any!

Screw you dude you think you know everything and your car is better then everybody and won't even find a comparable to mine or anything

Free bump op screw this guy

I'm not saying the op should sell his for $8500, his is worth around 11k. But that's because it's a 30k mile 2004 GT premium coupe. Your car is worth 9k on a good day. Sorry dude.

Yet mine is a gt premium convertible and you have yet to find me even a couple in my area that's a better deal. Lol at you and your 50+ posts and I looked at your car doesn't look that nice and it was bone stock. Have a nice day dude and go try to buy a ragged out cobra for $15k

Op good luck keep asking what you are

But I sold My 2002 premium GT that had 42,xxx miles with every single bolt on and all kinds of stuff on here oh and it had a SALVAGE title and I got 9,500 for it. Just whatever people are willing to pay in the state/area.

ok so first off WOW, I left this thread alone for a week or two and boom, ive got got people crying over what they think the supposed market is on anything for a new edge GT to a new gt500....

Ok, sooooo coming from somebody that has owned both a new edge GT and an 03 cobra with 14k miles 2 owner car. I know the market on these cars front, back, and sideways. I also know that every now and again there is a low priced good car out there with low miles. I'm just saying that you cant say they are always out there. I also want you guys to know that this is my car and I can sell it for 20k if I damn well please.... but I'm not an idiot, I know that if i really want to sell the car I need to place it at a RELEVANT market value. Now I do believe that KBB/NADA are both very reliable sources for current market values for cars. My price was set at 13.5k OBO, now for those out there not paying any attention to the actual ad and more worried about a little post that joe blow from half way across the damn country said and crowding my thread with a bunch of BS then LISTEN UP, OBO stands for OR BEST OFFER. Now you can offer me what ever you want for the car, that doesn't mean I have to take it.... Generally when somebody says OBO that means there is some wiggle in the price. Just figured Id add that in there for those that didn't get the memo.....

Now this brings me to another point, if your on a "set budget" of say 13k and you start looking at 03/04 cobras.... LOL, your not on a set budget.... you have about one tenth of an idea what new edge style mustangs go for. You can go from 8k for a decent 99-04 gt, all the way up to a 30k 1000 mile 03/04 cobra. So don't try and tell me that somebody on a so called "set budget" is going to spend an extra 5k to try and get into a LOW end cobra. This same thing goes for mach 1's. They are priced a lot closer to a GT, but if your comparing apples to apples (30k miles, 10/10 interior/exterior, bone stock) and not 20k-30k miles off of each other. Then your going to spend an extra $2500-4000 EASY for a clean mach. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against somebody trying to get the best bang for the buck and getting a little better car than they set out to buy, but really when somebody says "you can get a similar mileage mach for the same price" BS! LOL it makes me laugh at stuff like that. Say you want to spend 13k on a car, that will get you a VERY low mile and clean GT, but for the same money your going to get a decent 50k mile mach. Now I don't know about you but, 20k miles isn't what I would call "similar"...

Oh yeah and about all this BS about you can find a good low mile new edge GT with low miles that is clean..... LOL thats another joke.... Don't get me wrong now, they are easier to find than a cobra or mach but still not exactly able to got to any dealer within ~250 miles and pick up a clean low mile GT. I live in Nebraska, now I went to NEW YORK for one that was clean, low mile, coupe, manual, and in DSG. so uh yeah.... not as easy as some people make it out to be....

Now if you guys want to keep arguing about a bunch of this BS. TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! Don't sit here and start destroying my thread.... also for those guys actually not being idiots and sticking up for my own freedom to sell my car for whatever I would like, THANK YOU! There is some faith in humanity....

If you really would like to have an argument with me about how horrible my price is, GIVE ME A CALL, my number is at the beginning of this now ruined thread!

Thanks for your time!
