Need tires for my 2012 Shelby.

What do you guys recommend? Keep the OEM tires or change them to something else?

You may want to change the tires out depending on your driving needs. What are your likes and dislikes with the O.E. tires? Will the vehicle see any track time (road race, drag etc)? How many miles are you typically driving per year? What do you want your tires to do for you?

Here's what I have found so far....

Continentals- ExtremeContact "DW" AND "DWS" ONLY available in the 275/40R19 size & [DWS only>] 315/35R20 which the rears would NOT fit without modding rear...
[I wanted Continentals for my SVTPP but @ minimum OE sizes or was going to plus-size....]

But there are deals on NEW Goodyear F1 SuperCar in 265/40R19 on eBay that are listed at HALF the retail price [fronts only]
The rears [Goodyear F1], so far, you either have to pay full retail price [$$$] or find a member who is unloaded a set here in the "market section"

I personally don't like "mismatching" the fronts & rears; I have been searching for options for daily "road use" real world conditions.....
Just don't go "narrower"- the brakes & SVTPP suspension all play a part to keep the Shelby between the lanes and not the ditch....

I'm completely stock with mine, just like everyone said, the goodyears need to be "warmed-up" to provide grip. I have had no issues other than "initial grip" in the cold mornings....
So far, they don't "track" the road like the other Goodyear tires I have used in the past.

Main gripe with the stock tires is traction. I've never felt like they offered a whole lot of it. I don't really track the car, but if it comes up it's not like I'm going to say no. I'm averaging about 5000 miles per year up to now. Will probably be more like 2500 miles per year from here on out. She's no garage queen as I try to drive her as much as I can. Unfortunately, I don't have as much time as I'd like. Fortunately, my daily driver is pretty fun too.

I guess I'm looking for traction.

Do you have a link to the 265/40-19 Goodyear eBay listing? As you have probably read on the boards, we guarantee the lowest out the door price on all the products we carry. If a competitor has a cheaper advertised out the door price, we'll beat it :coolman:

Thank you for the additional information. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport is an excellent option to look into. This model provides excellent dry and wet grip and typically lasts around 15K to 20K miles on staggered applications. If you are going to continued to use your factory wheels I suggest running this tire model in the O.E. sizes. Anything wider (in the rear) will require wider wheels.
