Thought I would open up a new thread, took the heads off to find the #1(front passenger side, piston & rod combo & #4 front drivers side piston & Rod combo smashed to pieces. The rest of the 6 pistons and spark plugs looked great, #8 included. Both sides of the block were cracked and the the #1 cylinder was windowed. Heads looked pretty decent, but I'm going to replace them anyway as there is some damage to one of the cams and some metal markings on the valves on the #4 cylinder head. If I was in the states I would get them fixed at a machine shop. Overall wasn't to difficult to take apart. Use to rebuilding motorcycle engines, beside the weight, they're pretty easy to work once you get them out of the car. Found out I can deadlift a shortblock by myself and move it out of the way!

Didn't have a boost gauge, but I had an 82mm and open cold air intake with stock exhaust, minus a Roush Axel back. Guesstimate 10.5 from what others have said. Made 609hp and 550ft pounds of torque on a 93 tune.

That is some impressive damage. This is what broke in mine with a very similar setup. Melted #6. Everything else was mint.

How long were you running that set up? What happened to make it go boom?

Autobahn?

Yep 100 mph down shifted to 4th and gunned it and it let go instantly. Sucked, as I had my girlfriend in the car.

A shortblock should only weigh 260 according to livernois.. DYEL? Congrats on the damage OP, should make some nice paper weights

Not a whole lot lol. Thinking about making a table out of it with a glass top.

Ouch, that looks spendy.
Nice shop, is that a base hobby shop or what?

Yep, it's a base hobby shop. It's relatively new too. A multimillion dollar facility that was funded using MWR funding. It's an awesome asset to have. Only cost $6.00 an hour to use the lift and have access to most tools. Specialty tools cost an extra dollar. You can keep your car overnight at $3.00 a day. Pretty stoked to have this.

I'm a little curious now. Guess I'll just have to weigh it Thursday.

Either way I'm jerkin' yer gherkin, it's awkward as hell to pick up a block.. especially when all the edges are sharp and could potentially sever a finger or two. I am kind of curious though, you know... for science.
