Bro, kill the motor! Lol. Are you scraping the bottom of the barrel now and comparing tune only terminators to a new 5.0. This conversation has never been about a 5.0 vs anything less than a pulled cobra. That's the whole point. We all know the new 5.0 is 420HP. Of course that's going to outperform a 390 Cobra. NOW, when the Cobra makes 450 with a pulley and near 500 with other simple bolt ons, THEN the Cobra has the advantage with even more room to grow with a forged rotating assembly and lower compression vs a high compression 5.0 that will be limited. That's the whole debate. Don't get all mad. The 5.0 is a great motor. LOL @ 5.0 owners who don't seem to even know what a terminator is, or is capable of. This debate will never end as terminators continue to depreciate and become even more affordable to mod with whipples or turbos. The 5.0 will have to depreciate more before its a more cost effective route than a terminator.

Well im a 444/386 and that red terminator had; catless exhaust, pulley, tune, intake and heat exchanger. a medium setup that has a lot of room to grow (a 2004 with only 13,000 miles!!!!) he said it current stood at 480whp/480 .. I 100% agree that the terminator is alot easier to obtain comfortably high hp levels without blowing the engine. I happened to have mine let go early, so we'll see what I'll end up doing with my stock compression car.

tomorrow i should have much cleaner more accurate results between out two cars.

A bolt on coyote in the 10's? Must have nitrous. Just seen the vid of a bolt on coyote with nitorus beat a lambo in the other thread.

In that video he pulled the lambo all motor and he destroyed the Gallardo on nitrous, that was the first race.

^^^ but in real life nobody gets judged on a handicap of how much cash you do or don't have. Plenty of people think that spending a few grand to get forged internals in there 5.0 is pocket change so there goes that advantage.

I love cobras, kinda want one as a daily beater myself

LS1FTMFW is nothing more than a shit stirring troll. he's been endlessly punked about his catfish and selfies in skinny jeans.

Mustang envy is strong with this guy... i guess 5.0's are the new LS1

Well the ls1 did hurt cobra feelings. And the 5.0 picks up were the ls1 left off

They do have a lot of similarities. A jump in performance over previous base engines, easy to make power with them, soon to be a dime a dozen, already used in many swaps, have a good following, etc.

wouldn't i LOVE to cram one in a Jeep!!!

Nice try, the 10 second pass was on nitrous. This may not be "forced induction" but it sure as hell is a power adder, not a bolt on.

Congratulations, this is why the 5.0 crowd has a bad name. People like you. Why are you running around his claim that it was on nitrous? Just say yes. You don't need to play little games. The 5.0 is a 450 HP car. You won't go 10s bolt ons unless you strip it down to a shell.

It's not even guaranteed to run 11's in a stock 2013 GT500. Looking at these times does not make me feel too bad that a stock Terminator could only run 12.4

Or is the 5.0 faster than a 2013 GT500? ;-)

The cobras make more than 390(untuned off dealer lot with intake/catback my friend did 420 whp; which is full bolt on 5.0 territory), that's like saying I have 310 horsepower because that's what it's rated, when I really did 322 whp stock.

I have never seen a 400 whp cobra run what 400 whp 5.0s do.

420 whp 5.0 vs 420 whp cobra, the cobra will never stand a chance.

Once again, this has never been the debate. Learn how to read. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PULLIED/ BOLT ON COBRAS VS BOLT ON 5.0s. Wait, according to you N20 is a bolt on and I have seen plenty of n20 Cobras smoke 5.0s. Just take your BS back to LS1tech

There are some posters on here who own 5.0's that complain about cobras talking smack to them(not going to list user names). When in reality stock for stock and mod for mod the winner is clear.

You can't compare these two cars mod for mod. One is FI. So you're saying under drive pulleys on a 5.0 and a blower pulley on a Cobra will net a faster 5.0? The Cobra clearly has far more potential "mod for mod" AND dollar for dollar. Don't even think about a 5.0 taking on a blower swapped Cobra.
I don't know which you know less about- the terminator or your own car LOL

Weight is about equal. Assuming both are solid axle I don't see how the one car would have the upper hand over the other much. In fact, I think the Cobra probably has better aerodynamics considering it is a smaller car - which equals smaller surface area and less wind resistance. The size of the car matters as much as the shape of the car.

The drag coefficient of 03/04 Cobras were reported to be .32 in Iron Fist Lead Foot.

The GT500 apparently has a coefficient of .38. So I think a 5.0 must be in that neighborhood.

But how can you prove your statement that a Cobra of equal power WILL NEVER stand a chance against a 5.0 of equal power? That's a claim you can't back up I think. Anything can happen in a race so "NEVER" goes out the window.

EXACTLY. This guy belongs in a 5.0 with a mentality that equal HP cars will ALWAYS have one specific outcome.

Well, here's a 03 Cobra (~500 RWHP?) Vs. '07 GT500 (540 RWHP)

Looks like the Cobra won all the races. Not sure how a 5.0 with a similar shape and size will outdo a GT500? Yes the GT500 is heavier but apparently in this match up below also made more power. I'm so confused ;-)

There are a handful of bolt on (non nitrous) 5.0s that have been in the 10s.

[email protected] Quickest/fastest bolt on 2011+ Mustang GT - YouTube

2011 Mustang GT Automatic - [email protected] - YouTube

JPC N/A Stock Longblock Coyote @ MIR goes 10.29 @ 130 - YouTube

JPC / Casper GT Bolt On Automatic 2011 Mustang GT Record - YouTube

Those are just few vids but I know other's that have been in the 10's as well I just can't find the vid's.....

Like Shaun with AED, JJ with WMS, Aaron, and WBT all have cracked 10's without any power adders.....the N/A bolt on list should be over at modularfords though.
