The TVS will not be your problem. It also appears that you are running the factory mid pipe so you should pass the sniffer. The problem will be your rediness codes. You need to ask Greg if the rear 02 sensors are on or off. You are only allowed 1 rediness fail. If your rear 02s are off you will have 3 "not ready" codes. I heard the law was changing but I went thru this with my GT500 a couple months ago. When you reflash your computer or disconnect the battery it will reset all the codes to "not ready". The only way to get them to say "ready" is by driving the car. Most of the miles I put on my Shelby last year was in a 2 week span trying to get my car to pass smog. I wish the state would make a law that you can either smog your car or pay a $500 penalty instead. I would pay the $500 fee with a smile.

If you pull off the VMP sticker on the blower it will probably pass as being stock. If the shop isn't familiar with GT500s just tell him they come factory supercharged. I don't see why Greg would turn off the rear O2s if you're still using the factory cats. Doesn't hurt to call him and verify first. I'd just try a place first before going with peoples "hook ups".

Have you guys ever heard of a guy the will "help" for a star smog?

yes but theyre $$. the ones i know of are $300.

from what ive been hearing theyve been pushing performance cars to get Star smogs. seems like everyone i know has been getting a Star.

i recently replaced the alt in my GT500 and the rediness codes werent happening. guy told me to drive it for 25 miles. did that, still wasnt working. then he told me it probably needs a few hundred miles which wasnt going to happen. he then said he could "do something" to make it work and charged me an extra $30. hell yeah! lol. got my papers and was done! already wasted enough time doing the 25 miles for nothing :nonono:

Last thing you wanna do is get a friendly smog place closed. I had no problems with mine, just put back my stock H-pipe and was good to go, passed it with flying colors even though it has a "different" engine and a tune. Far as the VMP S/C, from what I know and seen is that they do a visual inspection as well. Since it doesn't have a EGR valve, im sure it will fail on the spot.

that is what I thought as well, but in the op's other thread (gt500 vmp tuning) they mentioned that only the terminator's tvs cases have no egr provision. so i guess the tvs gt500 guys have it a lot easier out here.

That would suck if its true, we got it bad. I really want the VMP but thats the only thing keeping me away from it, no EGR. This is why im leaning more towards a Whipple.

yup me too, I am hoping that someday vmp might modify the design. but in the some of the threads where it was being discussed, it did not sound too promising because they said it would need a completely new case design.
