im gonna trap him and release him out in the country. funny how he acknowledged me talking to him. when i was like "hey" he turns and stares at me. he is a cool little guy but he belongs out in the woods.

hes not in the woods b/c he might not be able to find food. id keep him around and hopfully he drives your neighbors crazy.

where im gonna take him there will be plenty to eat. i put some leftover lentils out for him but he wondered off somewhere else and didnt eat them. if he stays around here someone will probably shoot him and their dog is gonna mess him up.

There's a raccoon I catch going through my trash almost every week. He somehow lifts the the flip lid to the can that is usually weighed down by snow and ice.

I am only a block from the 405 & 10 freeway intersection and I have a WHOLE LOTTA critters around my house. One of the raccoons must weigh 35 pounds. He is as big as a small dog. I've never seen him or his buddies eat birdseed, but they sure as hell will gobble anything else. They especially love cat food.
Or anything else left out for them. One time I put a coconut out on the lawn and watched them trying to get into it. They never made it.

They are really smart animals. When I lived with my parents we had a female raccoon that would come up and eat the cat food. She got so use to us we got to hand feed her and pet her. She eventually brought her babies around never got to close to them tho as they were very scared.

Cute raccoon! Yeah, it did seem weird how he seemed to acknowledge your talking to him. Hopefully he has either found a better/safer living situation nearby or you'll be able to catch him and release him into a wooded area with plenty to eat.

Be wary of them. They will eat you alive...

Some of the worst maulings I've ever seen on our hunting dogs (and a few pits) have come at the hands of a coon.....They get on their head and it's all over.....

cool little guy, racoons are interesting. but like ^^ he said my dogs who are both 40-50lbs got in a fight with one on our farm one time and it held its own and really made them work. bet they fought for atleast an hour or 2 before they finally killed him.

Your home is built on the woods his ancestors used to live in. Raccoons are one of those species that have adapted to live in urban settings. Likely he lives right there in your town.
