subbing, if these vmp tvs superchargers are able to be smogged here that would be awesome, and puts me that much closer to getting one. but I was under the impression that problem in California for conventional smog is that the cases have no egr provision

They are not CARB certified. So from an equipment standpoint, that's up to you. From a tuning and true emissions standpoint, if you have working cats there's no reason to not pass either a sniffer or OBDII scan.

Legally... No, you will not pass a legitimately performed emissions inspection in California with non-CARB exempt equipment. You will fail the visual inspection.

Also, when you say you have cats, do you mean you have the factory mid pipe with four cats? Or an aftermarket H or X pipe with two high flow cats?

The newer gt500s only have 2 cats from the factory. The VMP tvs is a very OEM looking and the chances of failing visual are slim. I have a strut tower brace and you can't even see the top of the tvs.

This is all very confusing......................

It shouldn't be.
Legally, by the book, you fail since the VMP TVS isn't legal. Now will the person doing your smog check know its not the stock supercharger? Only 1 way to find out. Attempt to get it done. Just do what you can to try and make it look as stock as possible. Take off the VMP sticker or get a strut brace to cover it.
As for the tune, you need to ask Greg if your tune is ok for smog checks. Some have said he always turns off the rear O2 sensors in his tunes but someone in this thread has already stated that his passed with a RET tune. Maybe he initially told Greg to leave the rear O2s on. Not sure why he would always turn them off anyways if you still have your stock cats in place.

Did u have borrellimotorsports tune your car?

Vmp tune done on tps/borrelli's dyno. I wouldn't hesitate letting vince tweak my car, he is very conservative and listens to the engine with a stethoscope during each pull. He will be sure there is 0 detonation. Some guys may dyno a few hp more elsewhere but they run closer to the ragged edge.

The EGR & the CARB Sticker for the VMP will get you. If they are a Star station you'll fail on the egr.

The reason why the shelby passes with TVS is because that is what Ford/Shelby submitted for CARB Certification with boost being at a set psi. plus the egr diagram sticker on the hood

The vmp tvs is identical to the frpp tvs aside from the larger inlet opening on the vmp. I have a vmp and my egr is in place and functional.
