How much will I gain by adding a CJ65mm TB and a JLT 127mm CAI over my current set up of Stock TB and FRPP 113mm CAI? Currently running 2.5 pulley on FRPP TVS port matched to VMP High Flow elbow with Justin's tune. Also running stock exhaust with CATs.

Wondering if this will create more boost as I'm still running stock exhaust with KR mufflers.

If you are running a VMP tune why not call Justin and ask.....he would know more about how much a TVS would gain from those mods than anybody on here.

The only real gain will be from the 65mm tb and the retune. The upgrade on the cai won't add power and won't hurt power. Just allows you more room on maf range if even needed. You

There is video I'll try to find but JLT did a test comparing the 2 cai and it gained 10hp I think, and then they did a tb and cai and it gained 70hp over stock setup

How much power are you making now?

I agree with the 20-30rwhp estimate.

I currently run a 13 TVS & elbow with a Lund tune, only other mods are Roush axleback, FRPP resonator delete and Airaid non-oiled filter.

I've toyed with the idea of a CJ 65mm TB, but I can't use the power I have now.

My car made 590 rwhp SAE (STD #s were about 20rwhp higher) on a conservative dyno. Same day a stock 13 GT500 made 568rwhp SAE.

Really:shrug: You must do a ton of testing seeing how you know so much about TBs and how 10mm will not make power...
I'd love to see your test videos and graphs.

Here's mine:
JLT 127 Vs 110mm (3mm smaller than the 113mm he's asking about)

So, we tested the Big Air on a couple cars,

I'm not sure if you just go for post counts or you know what your talking about... Seeing how your wrong on the help you gave about the CAI I'd say...

OP, I think you'll make some more power from the TB and CAI

I'm making SAE corrected 633 rwhp and 621 torque. The other concern is I'm running stock catted exhaust and my boost is 16-17 right now. Any more boost and I"m afraid I'll start to damage CATs. Just kinda got the hots for the FRPP 65mm CJ TB! I assume the new TB would increase boost? I'll also email BJ this morning to get his opinion.

Pm Breoland he has a L&M elbow for your type blower...coupled with your planned mods it would be a killer add on.

Well in truth your bottle neck is at your TB and the Intake. If you upgrade, you will increase the flow that your TVS will receive. No more bottle neck. So I would definitely say you will increase power. How much is decided on a few other factors, but the flow is what you want to achieve.

So going with a TB of choice and a 123+ intake will get you there. Of course you would need a retune at that point. (123+ CAI+MAF needs a retune)

I'll respond to your email, but for the good of the "house"....

Yes, you'll see an increase from both the TB and the JLT.

Yes, you'll make more boost (more flow going in, no changes to increase what's going out, so you'll make more boost).

You should look at the VMP Twin Jet 67mm throttle body unless you're married to the Ford Racing piece. Ours outflows it and makes more power and uses Genuine Ford electronics and parts. No compatibility issues at all.

If you really want the Ford piece, I have a test unit sitting here. Call me and I'll make you a deal on it. We really don't use them much anymore.

If you get a 65mm+ TB, you will NEED to upgrade to a JLT 123 intake. My MAF was pegging with a 72mm TB and the C&L 113mm intake. Basically the MAF cannot compensate. You will create more boost with the intake/TB upgrade. If you REALLY want to see some gains, you can swap the upper pulley to a 2.4 :)

I made 590rwhp/573rwtq SAE on the stock 2.67 pulley with a safe mail order tune.
The TB for me would just need a tweak of the tune and put me up around 610-615rwhp, the TB and CAI would probably put me at 625rwhp+ and getting closer to needing injectors.

For now I will stay put.

BJs advice to you looks good.
