Repping the Trinity Shelbys on the Pony Drive from Norman, OK to Charlotte, NC for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, and thought I'd share a few pics:

Lined up in Norman, ready to go! Got to hang out with a SBY Laguna Seca most of Day 1.

Rest stop in Arkansas this morning:

Beale Street, Memphis: They closed the street, and we had a police escort into town for lunch. Nothing but Mustangs for blocks!

Memphis was awesome! They treated us like rock stars--including a police escort out of town, where they shut down all traffic on I-40 East for 18 miles!

Tomorrow is Nashville-Asheville, with a detour for the more adventurous down to Tail of the Dragon!

Update today (Nashville to Asheville, NC):

Car count probably doubled from yesterday morning. I would guess over 200 cars were at the lunch stop at Cunningham Ford in Knoxville, TN.

I got invited to sign the Wounded Warrior Shelby (retired Army):

The next three pics are a panorama view of most of the cars parked for lunch.

We picked up a whole bunch of Brazilians today, who got their first experience of snow on the way through the mountains west of Knoxville.

Drove through rain and snow quite a bit today. The MPSS's did pretty good in 34 degrees and snowing (not sticking to the road though).

That nixed the Tail of the Dragon side trip, and pretty much killed most of the fun on I-40. But it was still an awesome day!

I worked from 8 am till 1pm then went to the doctor for a yearly physical. They took like four quarts of blood and my doctor jammed his hand up my ass.

Last day of Pony Drive.

Rest stop east of Asheville on I-40. We filled a fairly large rest area. Tons of cars today!

Caught this "Monster" car stalking the "Warriors in Pink" car. Them's gonna be some interesting looking love-babies.

Not overpass pics, but some "passing by on the highway" shots:

We were already way behind the group after letting them pass by, so I stopped for this one:

In our instruction email several weeks ago, they told us we had to stay with the group to the Zmax Dragstrip for a mandatory group photo at the end of the trip. This morning at the driver's meeting, they informed us that it was just a ruse, that the real reason to stay with it to the end was for the parade laps on Charlotte Motor Speedway!

Lining up before we went out on the track:

On Pit Road after our laps. Pretty tame, had to stay in line, no passing, and the guy in front of me was rather.... conservative. Oh, and my AdvanceTrac had NO clue what to do with a high bank. Got a "service AdvanceTrac" message and the warning lights came on right in the first turn.

Tried to get added to an open track group, but registration was pretty disorganized, and they didn't know if they had slots. Told me to come back tomorrow, but I'm not going to wait in that line again. Will probably just wait until I've added a roll bar and then try to bug Van to take me on some of his trips.

Ahh, a lap on the track. Ok, now I'm super jealous. What an experience. Thanks for all the photos, felt like I was right there with you.
