finally got the car back to my dealership and confirmed what ford said, the engine oil cooler i installed got damaged by a rock or something. put a nice little hole in it. anyways like JUIC3D said its been a while since an e85 turbo car let go. Ive got my insurance company involved at this point, itd sure be nice if the insurance picked up some of the cost of the aluminator. of course with the holidays they are a week out from even looking at it. all of this has made me realize the mustang is getting a bit past DD status and i could sure use a truck with towing capabilities. Looking at ecoboost f150s, anyone got experience with em?

I just bought a 2012 EB F150 about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. I got the FX2 package and it makes for a very nice daily driver.

poked hole an\d oil loss. thinking back when i did get on it, it didnt seem its usual mega fast like maybe 70% power and insufficient oil pressure might attribute to such things. Also pre turbo y pipe has a noticeable dent/scrape on it, and its not the lowest part on the exhaust.

On the ecoboost note, i think itd make a great DD and tow rig with some getup n go.

Absolutely. I towed my mustang to daytona and back with no issues. Got 12mpg@80mph with 4 people in the cab and luggage for 4 adults for a 3 day weekend. Oh and 20 extra gallons of E85 in the bed for the mustang as well.

good news on a few fronts, first the insurance adjuster came out and looked at the car. He was quick to point out the turbo setup with the car up on the lift and hood closed, however he didnt give me too much grief over it. He took his pictures then sat in his car for a half hour, came back and said they were gonna do a long block. So end result is i get my aluminator short block basically for free as im doing the install. I dont know if the claim is classified under collision or comprehensive, if its under collision then i may be seeing a rate increase.

Second bit of good news comes with me hopefully picking up this 2011 f150 ecoboost supercrew monday or tuesday, depending on which day i can take off work as its 150 miles away. AND my stepfather is giving me his old trailer so now i can tow the mustang to the strip. Shaping up to be a decent holiday season

It'll be under comprehensive as there was no collision. I hydrolocked a motor from a JLT CAI during a flash flood on my old car and I got a new longblock under comprehensive.

Comprehensive Coverage:

Fire
Wind
Hail
Flood
Vandalism
Theft
Hitting an animal

How the heck did you get your insurance company to buy you a motor under comprehensive? Blowing your motor up due to FI has nothing to do with comprehensive insurance and I'm amazed right now and very curious. Basically if all insurance companies follow suite (what insurance are you using) then any time any of us window our block we can just get a free one from insurance. Doesn't sound... correct. Lol

Sounds like something on the road came up and hit his oil cooler. Curious what insurance company you have. I couldn't even get Geico to replace my after market head unit when someone broke into my truck! They said it wasn't a factory stereo.

I'm not with geico as they like to raise rates after you have them for a year, progressive too. I'll surely find out whether it's comp or collision once I get all the paperwork. Justin , I'm with usaa and haven't made a claim or had an at fault accident in over a decade. Ford roadside towed the car that night and the ford service dept pointed out the bleeding cooler. Had that guy not been hit i would be out of pocket on this.

SID, I already ordered the Aluminator as downtime was a big concern with a move coming up. I'm still rowing gears in the mt82, I'm already asking a lot out of that thing lol

Congrats

A buddy of mine got a new motor from bad(watery) fuel detonating his engine under his comprehensive Allstate insurance.

If you have Geico or Progressive insurance you are screwed over a lot vs good insurance like Allstate USAA and State Farm.
I have had fights with both Geico and Progressive before and even if they saved me $100/mo I wouldn't give them my business

That's good to hear. Im in the same boat as far as insurance. Been with USAA for 18 years and never made a claim.

I have the mustang under a collector car insurance with a set appraised value. I'll be switching my truck to a different insurance soon.

I got $20 on the JPC car.

With an aluminator, e85 and more boost, I would certainly hope so! If not, there's something wrong. Still pump for me baby and loving my times and mph so far :D

hells yea, once mine is back together we would be a really good run. Two turbo mt82 cars, JPC vs CPR!

Aluminator for more boost AND e85? We would of been a good race before the issues now. I sure hope you can get that car to go 9's with the new setup. I'm leaning towards it with the stock motor.

Well with more boost I'm sure I would run away. If this race was to ever come to fruition i would do a "pound for pound" setup. I'm yet to run pump gas with the turbo setup and don't really intend to.

9s are definitely in the cards for the car with more boost, just gotta see if the driver can make it go 9s LOL...your car could definitely be in that category with the driveline mods. What clutch are you using?

Pound for pound may be a good race as long as you didn't go 9.5:1 compression. I'd. Like to run e85 but ain't got the pumps for it. Maybe soon but guns are one hell of an addicting habbit :D

Stock clutch still hanging in there. After the first 10 second pass it felt "weird" until I went back to the track. I figured it gave up the ghost but seemed to grip better than before. I might swap clutches eventually. I'd really like to go auto tho...

Got that motor in yet?
